Hiren Varaiya
Hiren Ashok Varaiya (born 9 April 1984 in Nairobi) is a Kenyan cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a left arm leg spinner. International career He made his debut for Kenya in an ICC Intercontinental Cup game against Canada at Maple Leaf Cricket Club on 29 July 2006. He has since represented Kenya in 63 One Day Internationals and 25 Twenty20 Internationals. Earlier in his career he represented Kenya at the Under 19 World Cup in 2002. Domestically, he plays for the Nairobi Gymkhana Club and Cricket Kenya Franchise, The Southern Stars. Nairobi
Nairobi ( ) is the capital and largest city of Kenya. Maple Leaf Cricket Club
The Maple Leaf Cricket Club is a cricket club in King City, Ontario, Canada, about 30 kilometres north of Toronto, Ontario. It was established in 1954 and operates a turf wicket facility. In 2006, it became the second ground in Canada to be approved to host One Day Internationals (ODI) by the International Cricket Council. The facility has 5 cricket grounds. The North-West ground is the most important, and ODIs and Twenty20 Internationals have been played at this ground since the 2008 season. The Maple Leaf Cricket Club has become the primary cricket venue in Canada, assuming the role from the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club. 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two
2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two was a cricket tournament that took place in February 2018 in Namibia. The United Arab Emirates won the tournament, after beating Nepal by 7 runs in the final. Canada and Namibia finished third and fourth respectively and remained in Division Two. Oman and Kenya finished fifth and sixth respectively and were both relegated to Division Three. Following Kenya's last-place finish in the tournament, their captain Rakep Patel and their coach Thomas Odoyo both resigned. Oman and Canada were the top two teams in the 2017 ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament in Uganda and were promoted as a result. The Southern Stars
The Sahara Elite League (also known as Zonal League) was a four team cricket competition created by Cricket Kenya featuring a Twenty20 tournament, a one day cricket tournament and finally a three-day cricket tournament. For the inaugural league four teams will be competing consisting of the 60 best players according to Cricket Kenya from Kenya. Tournament history The first, and what was to be the only, edition of the competition involved four franchises, the Northern Nomads, the Eastern Aces, the Southern Stars, and the Western Chiefs. The teams were captained by National team players, Steve Tikolo, Thomas Odoyo, Kennedy Obuya, and Peter Ongondo 2008. Nairobi Gymkhana Club
Nairobi Gymkhana Club is a cricket ground and team in Nairobi, Kenya. It hosted two matches during the 2003 Cricket World Cup. The ground has a capacity of 7,000 people. It is located north of the central business district, but not far from it. The ground is the main cricket venue in the country and the only one which could in any way be described as a major ground.
