Paul began his career as a DJ for Stetsasonic. Since then he has worked on albums by Boogie Down Productions, Gravediggaz, MC Lyte, Big Daddy Kane and 3rd Bass, among others. Major recognition for Prince Paul came when he produced De La Soul's debut album ''3 Feet High and Rising'' (1989), in which he pioneered new approaches to hip hop production, mixing and sampling, notably by including comedy sketches. His first solo album, '' Psychoanalysis: What Is It?'', came out in 1997, followed by a second album, ''A Prince Among Thieves'', in 1999. Itstrumental
''Itstrumental'' is the fourth album by hip hop producer Prince Paul. Similar to other Prince Paul albums, it follows a theme. The album is strung together by a series of skits about the Mental Victims Unit (a play on '' Law & Order: Special Victims Unit'') tracking down and arresting Prince Paul. The album contains songs about, dealing with, or poking fun at Prince Paul's apparently real depression. The album was seen as Prince Paul's return to his classic style after ''Politics of the Business''. Stetsasonic
Stetsasonic is an American hip hop band. Formed in 1981 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, Stetsasonic was one of the first hip hop acts to perform with a full band and use live instrumentation in their recordings, paving the way for future hip hop bands such as The Roots. The band combined beat-boxing, sampling technology, and live band performance, incorporating R&B, jazz, dancehall reggae, and rock into its sound. Stetsasonic is also considered one of the acts that pioneered jazz rap. Though rumored to have disbanded in 1991, soon after the release of its third album, ''Blood, Sweat & No Tears,'' Stetsasonic continues to record and perform together, as evidenced by their subsequent release, "People In The Neighborhood", and their performance at the Urban Matterz Hip Hop Festival in 2019. Individual members branched out to explore solo careers, while still maintaining Stetsasonic. Frukwan and Prince Paul were founding members of the Gravediggaz, while the latter also bec ...

The album was the band's biggest commercial success to date, with subsequent ones selling progressively less, despite receiving high praise from critics. They were influential in the early stages of rapper/actor Mos Def's career, and are a core part of the Spitkicker collective. Resident Alien (album)
''Resident Alien'' is the debut studio album by the English glam rock band Spacehog. Released by Sire Records and Elektra Records on 24 October 1995, the album was certified gold on 29 July 1996 and included the hit single " In the Meantime", which reached the top of the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in the US, and remained there for four weeks. Most of ''Resident Alien''s basic tracks were recorded live in a barn in Woodstock, New York. It was intended to give the album the immediacy of live room recording. Although Jonny Cragg makes his singing debut in "Skylark" on the band's second LP, ''The Chinese Album'', it is his voice that introduces "Space Is the Place" on ''Resident Alien''. The spoken line in the middle of "Never Coming Down (Part II)", "Everybody in the world is bent", comes from the 1969 movie ''The Italian Job''. The movie also features jail inmates clapping out the rhythm used in this song. In a tribute to the film '' Candyman'', the chorus to "Candyman" repea ...
