Prince Paul (producer)
Paul Edward Huston (born April 2, 1967), better known by his stage name Prince Paul, is an American record producer, disc jockey and recording artist from Amityville, New York. Paul began his career as a DJ for Stetsasonic. Since then he has worked on albums by Boogie Down Productions, Gravediggaz, MC Lyte, Big Daddy Kane and 3rd Bass, among others. Major recognition for Prince Paul came when he produced De La Soul's debut album ''3 Feet High and Rising'' (1989), in which he pioneered new approaches to hip hop production, mixing and sampling, notably by including comedy sketches. His first solo album, '' Psychoanalysis: What Is It?'', came out in 1997, followed by a second album, ''A Prince Among Thieves'', in 1999. Gravediggaz was an American Hip hop music, hip hop group from New York, known for its Black comedy, dark sense of humor and abrasive, menacing soundscapes. Gravediggaz blended hardcore hip hop, gangsta rap and Heavy metal music, heavy metal with horror elements to pioneer the hip-hop subgenre of horrorcore. The group was formed in 1994, which brought together Prince Paul (producer), Prince Paul (The Undertaker), Frukwan (The Gatekeeper), Anthony Ian Berkeley, Too Poetic (The Grym Reaper) and RZA (The RZArector). Peter J. Nash (born February 5, 1967), known by his stage name Prime Minister Pete Nice or simply Pete Nice, is an American baseball historian and author, member of the Society for American Baseball Research, Hip Hop historian, and former rapper and record producer. Nash gained recognition as one-third of Def Jam's golden age hip hop group 3rd Bass. Early life Peter Nash was born on February 5, 1967 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York, to Carole and Raymond Nash. A hip hop skit is a form of sketch comedy that appears on a hip hop album or mixtape, and is usually written and performed by the artists themselves. Skits can appear on albums or mixtapes as individual tracks, or at the beginning or end of a song. Some skits are part of concept albums and contribute to an album's concept. Skits also occasionally appear on albums of other genres. De La Soul
De La Soul () is an American hip hop trio formed in 1988 in the Amityville area of Long Island, New York.
