Henk Trumpie
Henk Trumpie (born The Hague, 8 August 1937) was a Dutch ceramist and sculptor. Life and work Born in The Hague, Trumpie studied at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, and took glaze lessons at the Porceleyne Fles pottery in Delft, where he was involved in the production of ceramic works for other artists, such as Karel Appel. In 1969, he and Jacques van Gaalen founded the ceramics studio Struktuur 68. Gwen Heeney (2003) recalled, that "the studio has applied itself to the manufacturing of large-scale ceramic sculpture in collaboration with many international artists (many of whom have been unfamiliar with ceramics)". In 1968, they started working with the CoBrA group. Over the years, they "completed around 1000 successful commissions in collaboration with more than 200 national and international artists". Voorburg Kunstwerk Zuil Valkhof
Voorburg is a town and former municipality in the west part of the province of South Holland, Netherlands. Together with Leidschendam and Stompwijk, it makes up the municipality Leidschendam-Voorburg. It has a population of about 39,000 people. Wietske van Leeuwen (born 22 September 1965 in Rotterdam) is a Dutch ceramist, who lives and works in Monnickendam. Lia van Rhijn (born 1953 in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel) is a Dutch ceramist and sculptor, who makes sculptures of human – and animal figures and architectural forms.Lia van Rhijn, ''Traces in clay.'' Anna Carlgren
Anna Carlgren (pronounced ana 'ka:lgre:n, born July 1960, in Växjö, Sweden, is a glass artist. Education In 1977-78, she studied painting and Chinese calligraphy under Han Bong Duk in Stockholm. From 1978-1980, she studied at Orrefors Glass School. She also worked at Kosta Boda (1979), built a studio together with D. Valkema (1980), and was artist-in-residence at Pilchuk Glass School (Stanwood, Washington) where she also has lectured. She graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1983. Career Anna Carlgren's first solo exhibition was presented in the glass museum in Växjö, Sweden. Her main focus is transparency and optical phenomena in glass. She writes and lectures on this subject whilst exhibiting her work in museums and galleries all over the world. The Royal Academy of Art (KABK, nl, Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten) is an art and design academy in The Hague. Succeeding the ''Haagsche Teeken-Academie'' (part of the Confrerie Pictura), the academy was founded on 29 September 1682, making it the oldest in the Netherlands and one of the oldest in the world. The academy has been the training ground for a number of significant artists of the Hague School. It was part of the art movement of Dutch Impressionism and in the immediate vicinity of the II. Jan Van Der Vaart (ceramist)
Johannes Jacobus (Jan) van der Vaart (The Hague, 17 October 1931 – Leiden, 8 November 2000) was an influential Dutch ceramicist from the 20th century, known as founder of the abstract-geometric ceramics in the Netherlands. One of the key concepts in his work was the reintroduction of the pyramid or tulips tower, a specific type of tulip vase, from the 16th century in his own constructivist form. Biography Early life and early career Van der Vaart is autodidact, and took a pottery class for amateurs at the Vrije Academie in The Hague from Just van Deventer and Theo Dobbelman. In the 1950s he started working as a ceramicist in The Hague.
