Helen Foster (actress)
Helen Foster (May 23, 1906 – December 25, 1982) was an American film actress. Early life and career Born in Independence, Kansas, Foster attended school in Kansas City and later attended finishing school in Florida. She began acting in 1924, appearing in comedy shorts and early Westerns. In 1929, she had a role in her first sound film ''Gold Diggers of Broadway'', and was also named a WAMPAS Baby Star that same year. In 1933, Foster starred in the exploitation film '' Road to Ruin'', a remake of the 1928 film of the same name in which Foster also starred. Following the release of ''Road to Ruin'', Foster made only eight more film appearances in mostly uncredited roles. She made her last onscreen appearance as an extra in the 1956 film ''Around the World in 80 Days''. Independence, Kansas
Independence is a city in and the county seat of Montgomery County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 8,548. It was named in commemoration of the Declaration of Independence. History Independence was settled on land that was purchased from the Osage Indians in September 1869 by George A. Brown for the price of $50; they were being moved to Indian Territory in present-day Oklahoma. He originally called the townsite Colfax after Schuyler Colfax, vice president under President Ulysses S. Grant. On August 21, 1869 a group of Oswego, Kansas men led by R. W. Linda is a 1929 American silent drama film directed by Dorothy Davenport (as Mrs. Wallace Reid). Plot : Linda ( Helen Foster), a tender, romantic girl, is forced by her brutal father to marry Decker (Noah Beery, Sr.) an elderly lumberman who quickly realizes that Linda is not happy with him and does everything he can to make her life easier. Linda falls in love with Dr. Paul Randall (Warner Baxter), but remains with her husband until a scheming woman steps in and claims to be Decker's first and legal wife. Linda then goes to the city to live with her former schoolteacher and again meets Dr. Randall, but must leave him to return north and care for Decker, who has been hurt in a lumbering accident. Learning that the woman claiming to be Decker's wife is a fraud, Linda gallantly sticks with her husband until he finally dies from his injuries. ''The Sky Skidder'' is a 1929 American action film directed by Bruce M. Mitchell and written by Carl Krusada and Gardner Bradford.
