''Haunted Island'' is a 1928 American silent action film serial directed by Robert F. Hill. The serial was released in 10 chapters of two reels each, with the first episode ("A Night of Fear") released on March 26, 1928. Each episode featured a lurid title, such as "The Phantom Rider," "The Haunted Room," "The Fires of Fury," or "Buried Alive." The serial was a remake of the 1918 Universal serial ''The Brass Bullet'', which was based on the story "Pleasure Island."Lahue, Kalton C. The Haunted Island, A Frog Detective Game
''The Haunted Island, a Frog Detective Game'', is a 2018 first-person comedy adventure video game created by independent Australian developer Grace Bruxner. In it, the player plays as a detective frog, named "Frog Detective". A sequel entitled '' Frog Detective 2: The Case of the Invisible Wizard'' was released on December 9, 2019. The final installment of the series, '' Frog Detective 3: Corruption at Cowboy County'', was released on October 27, 2022. Plot ''The Haunted Island'' begins with Frog Detective getting a call from their supervisor, who informs them that a ghost has been heard on the island. Wilbur Mack
Wilbur Mack (born George Frear Runyon, July 29, 1873 – March 13, 1964) was an American film actor and early vaudeville performer from the 1920s through the 1960s. His film acting career began during the silent film era. Biography Mack was born and raised in Binghamton, New York, and began acting professionally when he joined a repertory theatre when he was 16. He found success performing vaudeville with first wife Nella Walker ("Mack and Walker"). The couple divorced not far into the marriage and Walker subsequently found success as a supporting actress in the "talkies." Mack, meantime, found a new partner: Gertrude Purdy, with whom he reprised his popular husband and wife vaudeville routine (this time headlined "Mack and Purdy"). In addition to performing, Mack wrote dialogue for skits and words and music for songs in their vaudeville shows. In 1925 Mack entered into a film acting career.
