Havneholmen
Havneholmen (literally "The Harbour Isle") is a mixed-use development located on reclaimed land off Kalvebod Brygge in the harbor of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located just east of the shopping centre Fisketorvet from which it is separated by a narrow canal, although it is annexed to mainland Kalvebod Brygge at its southern end. Havneholmen is connected to Islands Brygge on the other side of the harbor by Brygge Bridge, a foot and cycling bridge. Tømmergraven Canal separates it from Enghave Brygge to the south. Construction The area was formerly known as Kalvebod Pladsvej and was an industrial site. The plan for its redevelopment was adopted by the City in 2003. A masterplan for the area was created by Gert Wingårdh and construction began in 2006. The development comprises about 91,000 square metres of buildings. Lundgaard & Tranberg Arkitekter is a Danish architectural firm, based in Copenhagen Denmark. It is most noted for the Tietgenkollegiet student housing in Ørestad from 2006 and the Royal Danish Playhouse on the Copenhagen harbourfront from 2008. Lundgaard & Tranberg has won RIBA European Awards three years in a row in 2006, 2007 and 2008. History Lundgaard & Tranberg was founded in 1983 by Boje Lundgaard and Lene Tranberg. Bryggebroen
Bryggebroen ( lit.: ''The Quay Bridge'') is one of the new bicycle/pedestrian bridges in Copenhagen inner harbour and is a combined pedestrian and bicyclist bridge directed east-west. The bridge is joined to ''Kalvebod Brygge'' and Cykelslangen bridge (west) and ''Islands Brygge'' (east) and thus connects Vesterbro on Zealand and Amager. The bridge has become a popular place for attaching love padlocks. The bridge which opened to public on 14 September 2006 is wide, divided by a pedestrian path and cycling path and constructed as a swing bridge to allow larger sailing vessels to pass. The name of the bridge was among the suggestions in a naming project organized by the Danish daily ''Politiken'' in which more than 200 suggestions were submitted. The name ''Bryggebroen'' was elected by the newspaper as the winner because it connects the two quays (lit.: ''brygger'') ''Islands Brygge'' and ''Kalvebod Brygge''. Kalvebod Brygge (literally "Kalvebod Quay") is a waterfront area in the Vesterbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The name also refers to a section of the Ring 2 ring road which follows the waterfront from Langebro in the north to the H. C. Ørsted Power Station in the south. The area is dominated by office buildings, Tivoli Conference Center, several hotels and the shopping centre Fisketorvet. The southern part of the area, south of Bernstoffsgade, is to the west bounded by an extensive railway terrain, a section of which is now under redevelopment into a linear park with scattered buildings and a super bikeway, which will ultimately provide a greenway between the city centre and the South Harbour. Dybbølsbro Station
Dybbølsbro is a central S-train station in Copenhagen, Denmark. History The station opened on 1 November 1934 when S-train service was extended from København H to Valby. A fourth platform was inaugurated in 2009. Platforms The four platforms are located under Dybbølsbro, a viaduct connecting Kalvebod Brygge and Havneholmen with the rest of Vesterbro across the railway tracks. They are accessed from the bridge with stairs or lifts. Bus station There is as of 2020 not any proper bus station for scheduled long-distance buses. Kim Utzon
Kim Utzon (born 1957) is a Danish architect, and son of Jørn Utzon. Biography Kim Utzon was born in 1957 as the son of Pritzker Prize-winning Danish architect Jørn Utzon.
