Harwich High School
Harwich High School was a public high school located in Harwich, Massachusetts, United States. Harwich High School was the third smallest public high school on Cape Cod. Harwich High School closed in 2013-2014 due to the towns of Harwich and Chatham deciding to regionalize their school districts and build a regional high school. The new high school is Monomoy Regional High School, which opened in 2014. Overview Harwich High School had an approximate enrollment of 400 students in grades 9-12. The school's mascot is the Rough Rider and its colors are Blue, Gold, and White. *Over the past couple of years, Harwich had been in negotiations with the town of Chatham to create a regionalized school district due to declining student populations in each town. Georgetown, Massachusetts
Georgetown is a town in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 8,470 at the 2020 census. It was incorporated in 1838 from part of Rowley. History Georgetown was originally settled in 1639 as a part of the town of Rowley by the Reverend Ezekiel Rogers. The town at the time stretched from the Atlantic coast to the Merrimack River, south of Newbury and north of Ipswich. Several farmers, finding suitable meadowlands in the western half of the settlement, began settling along the Penn Brook by the middle of the seventeenth century, creating Rowley's West Parish. Though not directly involved in King Philip's War, the village nonetheless did become a victim of Indian raids.
