Harutyun Karapetyan
Harutyun Karapetyan (born 7 April 1972) is an Armenian former professional footballer who played as a forward in Major League Soccer (MLS) for the Los Angeles Galaxy, the San Jose Clash, and the Tampa Bay Mutiny. Karapetyan holds the record for the fastest hat-trick in MLS history, scoring one in five minutes in June 1998 while playing for the Galaxy in a game against FC Dallas (originally the Dallas Burn); the Galaxy eventually won the match 8–1. Career Karapetyan played for the Los Angeles Salsa in the American Professional Soccer League in 1993 and 1994. In February 1996, the Galaxy selected him in the 7th round (74th overall) in the 1996 MLS Inaugural Player Draft. A resident of Van Nuys, he was so unknown that he was inadvertently omitted from the ''L.A. Timess 7 February 1996 account of the draft's opening rounds. The Armenia national football team has represented Armenia in international association football since 1992 after the country declared independence following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. Prior to this, Armenian players had represented the Soviet Union national football team. The team is governed by the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) and competes as a member of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), which encompasses the countries of Europe and Israel. Having gained independence, the FFA was founded in 1992 and became a member of UEFA and Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) in the same year. Lawrence Lozzano (born July 25, 1970 in Los Angeles, California) is a former U.S. soccer player who earned seven caps with the U.S. national team. Club career Lozzano grew up in Cerritos, California playing for several youth clubs, at least one of which was coached by Luis Balboa, father of Marcelo Balboa. In 1990, Lozzano played with the California Emperors of the American Professional Soccer League (APSL). The Kickers folded at the end of the 1990 season and Lozzano moved to the San Francisco Bay Blackhawks for the 1991 and 1992 season.
