Harry Warner (Shortland Street)
Harry Warner (previously Thompson-Warner) is a fictional character on the New Zealand soap opera ''Shortland Street'' who first appeared onscreen in May 2002. Being born on screen during the shows 10th anniversary, Harry has been portrayed by several child actors and by Reid Walker since 2009. In May 2017 Harry left for an exchange program in Japan. Creation and casting In 2001 the shows producers decided to undergo a story that saw Toni Thompson (Laura Hill) give birth prematurely during the soap operas 10th anniversary. After the initial birth scenes, Callum Campbell-Ross was cast in the role due his small size resembling that of a premature baby and due to his family living close to the studio where the soap was filmed. It was decided the role of Harry would be recast in 2006 after Directors struggled to convince 3 year old Campbell-Ross to film "naughty boy" scenes where he broke a sandcastle. ''Shortland Street'' is a New Zealand prime-time soap opera centring on the fictitious Shortland Street Hospital, first broadcast on TVNZ 2 on 25 May 1992. It is New Zealand's longest-running drama and soap opera, being broadcast continuously for over 7,500 episodes and 30 years, and is one of the most watched television programmes in New Zealand. The show was originally screened as five half-hour episodes each week and initially receiving mixed reviews on its premiere. After its launch, it dropped in ratings and would have been cancelled if TVNZ had not ordered a year's worth of episodes in advance. Donna Heka (also Bennett) is a fictional character on the New Zealand soap opera ''Shortland Street'', who was portrayed by Stephanie Tauevihi from 1997 to mid-2004 and again for a two episode stint in December 2004. Donna arrived in 1997 as a potential love interest for established character Rangi Heremaia ( Blair Strang). What followed, became one of ''Shortland Streets most iconic storylines, with the happy couple discovering they were, in fact, related. Michael Galvin (born 27 March 1967) is a New Zealand actor, singer and playwright, well known for his role as Chris Warner on the soap opera Shortland Street, a character he has played almost since the show's debut in 1992 until 1996 and again from 2000 to present, and remains as of 2020, the only original cast member. Adam Heywood is a fictional character in the New Zealand soap opera ''Shortland Street'' who was portrayed by Leighton Cardno from early 2001 until mid-2003. Creation and casting In 2000 an Australian consultant made several large changes to the show that would see a more working class hospital portrayed. Adam and his mother, Barb and brother, Marshall were introduced through the revamp.
