Hariamanto Kartono
Hariamanto Kartono (; born 1954) is a retired male Chinese Indonesian badminton player. Career Partnered first with Rudy Heryanto and later with singles star Liem Swie King, Kartono was one of the world's leading doubles players in the early and mid-1980s. As upstarts, he and Heryanto took silver medals at the 1980 IBF World Championships in Jakarta, losing the final to veteran fellow countrymen Ade Chandra and Christian Hadinata. At the 1981 All-England Championships they avenged that loss in the semifinal, and went on to defeat another highly decorated Indonesian pair, Tjun Tjun and Johan Wahjudi, in the final. They won the All-Englands again in 1984 and the Indonesia Open in 1982 and 1983. Partnered with Liem Swie King, Kartono won the Indonesia Open again in 1985 and 1986, and the Badminton World Cup in 1984 and 1985. Tegal
Tegal is a city in the northwest part of Central Java of Indonesia. It is situated on the north coast (or ''pesisir'') of Central Java, about from Semarang, the capital of the province. Tjun Tjun
Tjun Tjun () is a retired Chinese-Indonesian badminton player. Career Though a world level singles player early in his career, he became one of the sport's greatest ever doubles specialists. His game was notable for its speed, power, accuracy, and aggressiveness. He is the brother of Liang Qiu-xia, also a badminton player and coach. Tjun Tjun became world champion in men's doubles with Johan Wahjudi at the very first IBF World Championships held in 1977. They also won 6 of the 7 All England Open Badminton Championships held from 1974 through 1980. They were clearly the world's number one team during this period, often beating fellow countrymen Christian Hadinata and Ade Chandra in the finals of major events. Christian Hadinata
Christian Hadinata (, born 11 December 1949) is a former Chinese Indonesian badminton player. Profile Though early in his career he was a fine singles player who reached the final of the prestigious All-England Championship in 1973, Christian's success in doubles earned him recognition as one of the great doubles players in badminton history. He won two gold medals at the 1980 IBF World Championships in Jakarta, in men's doubles with Ade Chandra, and in mixed doubles with Imelda Wiguna. He played for Indonesia for 15 years, beginning his career in 1971 at the Asian championships in Indonesia and managed to become a mixed doubles champion with Retno Koestijah. Christian's Thomas Cup (Men's International Team Championship) record is particularly notable. Ade Chandra (; born 4 February 1950) is a retired Chinese Indonesian badminton player. Career A doubles specialist of ample bulk by Indonesian standards, he was noted for his power and quick defensive reflexes. With the formidable Christian Hadinata he won numerous international men's doubles titles between 1972 and 1980, including a pair of All-England titles, though they were often runners-up to fellow countrymen Tjun Tjun and Johan Wahjudi at major events . Liem Swie King (; born 28 February 1956) is an Indonesian former badminton player who excelled from the late 1970s through the mid-1980s. He won the All England in 1978, 1979 and 1981. He was one of the world's leading singles players of his era. A world level player in men's doubles as well as men's singles, he was known for the ferocity of his jumping smash. Early life Liem was born on 28 February 1956 in Kudus Regency, Central Java. His parents were Ng Thian Poo and Oei See Moi from Putian, Fujian. He was the only son of eight children. During elementary school, he studied at Sekolah Tionghoa, and later moved to SD Negeri Dema'an II in 1965.
