Handball At The 2023 Pan American Games – Women's Last Chance Qualification Tournament
The 2023 Last chance qualification tournament took place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from 25 to 27 August. It acted as a qualifying tournament for the 2023 Pan American Games. Results Round robin ''All times are local ( UTC−04:00).'' Controversy The US team trained for 4 1/2 days. The following two days no training was possible because a tropical storm which caused torrential rains and power outages. No other facilities were provided by the host for training. The roof of the gym leaked and the floor was flooded. Because of this the Taraflex buckled and bulged. On 22 August the USA voiced there concerns and complains to the organizing committee. On 25 August the first game day the host chanced at 10:00 the start of the first game from 17:00 to 14:00. Therefore, it was no longer possible for the USA to complete a training session. Handball At The 2023 Pan American Games
Handball competitions at the 2023 Pan American Games are scheduled to be held from October 24 to November 4, 2023. The venue for the competition is the Gimnasio Polideportivo located in Viña del Mar. A total of eight men's and eight women's teams (each consisting up to 14 athletes) will compete in each tournament. This means a total of 224 athletes are scheduled to compete. The winner of each competition will qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Qualification Eight men's teams and eight women's teams will qualify to compete at the games in each tournament.
