Halton Ravens
The St. George Ravens are a Canadian Junior "A" ice hockey team based in St. George, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL). History Originally announced as the Cyclones, the Halton Ravens joined the GMHL in spring 2013 based in Burlington, Ontario. On September 5, 2013, the Ravens played their first game in team history, at home, against the defending league champion Bradford Rattlers which the Ravens lost 6–1. Brett Lee scored the first goal in franchise history at 6:47 of the second period. On September 15, 2013, the Ravens won their first game, at home, versus the Powassan Eagles. The final score was 7–4, with Adam Ostermeier scoring the game winner halfway through the third. Mike Calouri made 29 saves for the win. Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League
The Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL) is a Canadian developmental junior ice hockey league. The league has primarily had teams in the Greater Toronto Area, Central Ontario, Northeastern Ontario, and Quebec. In 2019, they added three teams from Alberta. As of December 2019, the league's alumni page lists 889 players from 2006 to 2019 who graduated from the GMHL to play for NCAA colleges, various professional leagues, major junior teams, or represented their country in various IIHF World Championships. The GMHL is an independent junior league and is not a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League or sanctioned by Hockey Canada. The Toronto Attack was a junior ice hockey team based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It played in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL). History The Attack was announced as an expansion team on March 19, 2012, by the GMHL. Tillsonburg is a town in Oxford County, Ontario, Canada with a population of 18,615 located about 50 kilometres southeast of London, on Highway 3 at the junction of Highway 19. History Prior to European settlement, the present site of Tillsonburg was home to Indigenous tribes. The Tillsonburg Village Site, a 14th century Iroquoian village, was excavated in 2001 and 2008, in the northwest corner of the town, and contained 15 longhouses. The area was settled in 1825 by George Tillson and other immigrants from Enfield, Massachusetts. The Almaguin Spartans are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in South River, Ontario. They play in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL). They were originally the Mattawa Voyageurs of Mattawa, Ontario. History The Voyageurs were announced as a team in spring 2011. On September 16, 2011, the team played its first game, at home, against the Bobcaygeon Bucks. The Voyageurs lost the game in a shootout 5–4. On September 18, at home again, the Voyageurs picked up their first win, 5–4 in overtime over the Algoma Avalanche. In July 2014, the team was approved for relocation to South River, Ontario, where they became the Almaguin Spartans. The Bradford Bulls are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Bradford, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL). History The Bulls were announced on February 23, 2012, by the GMHL. They are the namesake of the old Bradford Bulls Junior C team that which became the Bradford Rattlers. The Ratters and Bulls play out of different arenas in Bradford, but gave the Rattlers a geographical rival. The Bradford Bulls first regular season game was on September 16, 2012, in Bradford, Ontario. The game was on the road against the cross-town rivals the Bradford Rattlers. The game resulted in a 6–2 loss for the Bulls but had its first goal in franchise history scored by Clint Zumer, and assisted by Justin Tucker.
