Hakunila (; sv, Håkansböle, ), is a district and major region of the municipality of Vantaa, Finland, located within the eastern part of the city. The district has a population of 11,238 and a population density of . The district is bordered to the west by Lahdenväylä (a constituent of the National road 4 ( E75)), to the south by the Ring III ( fi, Kehä III) beltway, to the east by the districts of Ojanko and Sotunki, and to the north by the district of Itä-Hakkila. Länsimäki ( sv, Västerkulla) is a city district in Vantaa, Finland. It is located in southeastern Vantaa, in the Hakunila major region. It is bordered to the north by national road 7, the west by the district of Rajakylä, the east by the district of Länsisalmi, and the south by the Helsinki district of Mellunmäki. The population of Länsimäki is 5,675 (1.1.2014). Länsimäki is known for its historical farmland and World War I-era fortifications. History The buildings of Länsimäki were constructed on land bought from the Westerkulla estate, which has existed on the grounds since the 1630s. Vantaa Light Rail
Vantaa light rail is a planned light rail system in Vantaa, Finland. Its proposed route connects Mellunkylä, Hakunila, Tikkurila, Aviapolis and Helsinki Airport. The construction may start at the earliest in 2023, with a projected finishing date of 2028. The average speed of the system is estimated to be 24 km/h. At its fastest it may travel up to 70 km/h. The trip from Hakunila to Tikkurila would be 10 minutes, and from Tikkurila to Jumbo 13 minutes. From Tikkurila to the airport it would take about half an hour. The planned capacity is 170 passengers per rail car. The estimated cost of the project is 300 million euros, of which the city of Vantaa would pay a third. Tikkurila Railway Station
Tikkurila station ( fi, Tikkurilan rautatieasema, sv, Dickursby station) is located in Tikkurila, the administrative centre of Vantaa in the Helsinki metropolitan area. It is located approximately from Helsinki Central railway station and from Helsinki Airport. The station is considered the main railway station of Vantaa, and almost all long-distance and commuter trains stop here. Tikkurila was one of the first seven railway stations in Finland constructed together with the country's first railway between Helsinki and Hämeenlinna in 1862. It was also the only one apart from the two terminus stations to be built out of brick and not wood.
