Hakan Demirel
İsmail Hakan Demirel (born 7 May 1986) is a Turkish professional basketball player for İstanbul BB of the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL). He is 1.91 m tall and plays the point guard position. Career He studied at Istanbul Bilgi University. He started his professional career with Tofaş in Turkish Basketball 2nd League. He was recruited to play for the Western Carolina University Catamounts, but the NCAA declared him permanently ineligible as a collegiate athlete because he played professional basketball in Turkey. Demirel played his whole professional career in Turkey with the following clubs : Tofaş, Fenerbahçe, Erdemir, Darüşşafaka, Antalya BB, Royal Halı Gaziantep, Tofaş, Uşak Sportif, Trabzonspor B.K. and İstanbul BB. Turkish 2nd Basketball League
The Turkish Basketball Second League, also called TB2L, is the third-tier level league of professional club basketball in Turkey. The league was previously called the Turkish Basketball Third League (TB3L). Format and promotion and relegation There are a total of 15 teams participating in the league for the TB2L 2019–20 season. Each team plays each other in their group twice during the regular season. The top 8 teams from each group qualify to an elimination round (best of 3 games). EuroBasket 2007
The 2007 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 2007, was the 35th FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship held by FIBA Europe, which also served as Europe qualifier for the 2008 Summer Olympics, giving a berth to the champion and runner-up teams (or to the third-placed team in case Spain should reach the final). 2006 FIBA World Championship
The 2006 FIBA World Championship was the 15th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship for men's national teams. The tournament was hosted by Japan and held from 19 August to 3 September 2006. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Japan Basketball Association (JABBA) and the 2006 Organising Committee. For the first time since 1986, the World Championship was contested by 24 nations, eight more than in 2002. The Turkey men's national basketball team ( tr, Türkiye Millî Basketbol Takımı) represents Turkey in international basketball tournaments. They are governed by the Turkish Basketball Federation. Their nickname is the ''12 Dev Adam'', meaning 12 Giant Men. Turkey has competed at every major international basketball tournament.
