Hair (movie)
''Hair'' is a 1979 American Musical film, musical Anti-war film, anti-war comedy-drama film based on the 1968 Broadway musical ''Hair (musical), Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical''. Set against the backdrop of the hippie Counterculture of the 1960s, counterculture of the Vietnam era, the film focuses on a Vietnam War conscription, draftee who meets and befriends a "tribe" of hippies while en route to the army induction center. The hippies and their leader introduce him to cannabis (drug), marijuana, lysergic acid diethylamide, LSD and their environment of unorthodox relationships and draft evasion. The film was directed by Miloš Forman (who was nominated for a César Award for Best Foreign Film, César Award for his work on the film) and adapted for the screen by Michael Weller (who would collaborate with Forman on a second picture, ''Ragtime (film), Ragtime'', two years later). Bill Gold
William Gold (January 3, 1921 – May 20, 2018) was an American graphic designer best known for thousands of film poster designs. During his 70-year career, Gold worked with some of Hollywood's greatest filmmakers, including Laurence Olivier, Clint Eastwood, Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Elia Kazan, and Ridley Scott. His first poster was for ''Yankee Doodle Dandy'' (1942), and his final work was for ''J. Edgar'' (2011). Among Gold's most famous posters are those for ''Casablanca'', ''The Exorcist'' and ''The Sting''. Galt MacDermot
Arthur Terence Galt MacDermot (December 18, 1928 – December 17, 2018) was a Canadian-American composer, pianist and writer of musical theater. He won a Grammy Award for the song " African Waltz" in 1960. His most-successful musicals were ''Hair'' (1967; its cast album also won a Grammy) and '' Two Gentlemen of Verona'' (1971). MacDermot also composed music for film soundtracks, jazz and funk albums, and classical music, and his music has been sampled in hit hip-hop songs and albums. He is best known for his work on ''Hair'', which produced three number-one singles in 1969: " Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In", "Good Morning Starshine", and the title song "Hair". A hippie, also spelled hippy, especially in British English, is someone associated with the counterculture of the 1960s, originally a youth movement that began in the United States during the mid-1960s and spread to different countries around the world.
