The Elkhead Mountains are a mountain range in Colorado. The mountain range is considered to be low altitude within Colorado as all of the peaks are under . Located within Routt County, Colorado, Routt and Moffat County, Colorado, Moffat counties, the Elkhead Mountains are far from metropolitan areas and have few lakes and streams, so they attract relatively few visitors. The mountain range is of volcanic origin and all of the peaks were formed by volcanic action. A summit is a point on a surface that is higher in elevation than all points immediately adjacent to it. The topography, topographic terms acme, apex, peak (mountain peak), and zenith are synonymous. Hahns Peak Village is an unincorporated community in Routt County, Colorado, United States. The village is located north of Clark on Routt County Road 129, and east-southeast of Steamboat Lake State Park. The community is named for Hahns Peak, which north-northeast.
