Hafiz Hashim
Muhammad Hafiz bin Hashim (born 13 September 1982) is a former Malaysian badminton player whose biggest success is having won the 2003 All England Open Badminton Championships. He is currently the Malaysia national junior under-15 singles coach. Personal life He studied at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Ismail before transferring to Kuala Lumpur. Then, he transferred back to Kelantan and studied in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pintu Geng before he transferred to Sultan Ismail College. He achieved worldwide fame when he won the All England Open Badminton Championships in 2003. He is one of the most successful Malay badminton players aside from the Sidek brothers. Hafiz was among others also coached by Misbun Sidek, the eldest of the Sidek brothers and a former national singles coach. Hafiz is known for his cool approach on the court regardless of whomever he's playing against. He is the younger brother of Roslin Hashim, a former world No.1. Malaysia Purple League
The Malaysia Purple League (Malay: ''Liga Ungu Malaysia'') is Malaysia's premier professional badminton league managed by Purple League (M) Sdn. Bhd. The seasons usually run from December to January. The League features local and international players ranging from Olympic medallist, World Champions, former stars and also rising talents. Players from 8 teams will participate in 3 stages on a round robin and play-off format for the coveted Senheng Purple League trophy and championship title. It offers a total prize money of RM1,500,000. The 2021/2022 season kicked off at Malawati Stadium, Shah Alam on October 1st, while the finals will be held at the Arena of Stars in Resorts World Genting on October 8th and 9th. Badminton At The 2002 Commonwealth Games
The badminton competition at the 2002 Commonwealth Games took place at the Bolton Arena in Manchester, England from 25 July until 4 August 2002. There were no bronze medal play off matches because both losing semi-finalists were awarded a bronze medal. This was the only time that the scoring system of 7 points / 5 sets was used for a Commonwealth Games badminton event. Sony Dwi Kuncoro
Sony Dwi Kuncoro (born 7 July 1984) is a badminton singles player from Indonesia. He was the 2004 Olympic bronze medalist, two-time World Championships medalist (silver–2007, bronze–2009) and three-time Asian Champion (2002, 2003, 2005). He reached a career high as world number 3 in 7 October 2004. Personal life He plays badminton after his father introduced him at 7 years old, and at 8 years old he joined the Suryanaga Surabaya Badminton Club. Currently, he joins the Tjakrindo Masters Badminton Club in Surabaya. His parents are Moch. Sumadji (father) and Asmiati (mother). His hobbies are fixing automobiles and hanging-out or travelling. Generally people call him Sony, which can also be spelled as Soni. On 24 July 2009, he married Gading Safitri, who became his coach and manager. The Philippine Institute of Sports Multi-Purpose Arena or PhilSports Arena is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located inside the PhilSports Complex in Pasig, Philippines. It was formerly known as the University of Life Theater and Recreational Arena or the ULTRA. The arena is part of the PhilSports Complex which is maintained by the Philippine Sports Commission. It was the site of the majority of the games of the Philippine Basketball Association from 1985 to 1992 and from 1999 to 2002. The league still occasionally comes back to play at the arena. Muhammad Roslin bin Hashim (born 23 October 1975) is a former Malaysian badminton player. He is the elder brother of Muhd Hafiz Hashim.
