PhilSports Arena
The Philippine Institute of Sports Multi-Purpose Arena or PhilSports Arena is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located inside the PhilSports Complex in Pasig, Philippines. It was formerly known as the University of Life Theater and Recreational Arena or the ULTRA. The arena is part of the PhilSports Complex which is maintained by the Philippine Sports Commission. It was the site of the majority of the games of the Philippine Basketball Association from 1985 to 1992 and from 1999 to 2002. The league still occasionally comes back to play at the arena. The arena was also the home court of the Pasig-Rizal Pirates in the Metropolitan Basketball Association in 1998 and the San Juan Knights in 1999. Hendra Setiawan
Hendra Setiawan (born 25 August 1984) is an Indonesian badminton player. He is an Olympic Games gold medalist, four-time World Champion, two-time Asian Games gold medalist, and two-time All England champion. With these achievements, Setiawan has collected all major individual titles in badminton. He is considered to be one of the greatest men's doubles players in badminton history. Setiawan was ranked first in the men's doubles with two different partners. Together with Markis Kido, he achieved the world no. 1 in September 2007, and with Mohammad Ahsan in November 2013. Captain Saralee Thungthongkam ( th, สราลีย์ ทุ่งทองคำ ผู้พัน หรือน.อ.ส้ม; ; born 13 June 1979) is a Thai retired badminton player. She graduated with a master's degree in Communication Arts from Bangkok University. Career Thungthongkam made her debut at the Olympic Games in 2000 Sydney. Li Yujia (Simplified Chinese: 李羽佳; born 18 January 1983) is a Chinese-born Singaporean badminton player who competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the women's and mixed doubles event. Greysia Polii
Greysia Polii (; born 11 August 1987) is an Indonesian former badminton player specializing in doubles. She won gold medals in the women's doubles at the 2014 Asian Games, at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She also won three bronze medals at the World Championships in 2015, 2018, and 2019. Jo Novita (born 19 November 1981) is an Indonesian former badminton player. She won gold medals in the women's doubles at the Southeast Asian Games in 2003, and in the team event in 2001 and 2007. She won the World Grand Prix tournament title in Thailand and Philippines Open. Novita also competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics and 2006 Asian Games. Wong Pei Tty (, born 11 November 1981) is a former doubles badminton player from Malaysia. Currently, she works as an assistant coach for Malaysia women's double national team. Career Wong competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in women's doubles with partner Chin Eei Hui. They defeated Seiko Yamada and Shizuka Yamamoto of Japan in the first round but were defeated by Gao Ling and Huang Sui of China in the round of 16. Chin Eei Hui
Chin Eei Hui (; Hakka Pha̍k-fa-sṳ: Chhìn Ngì-fui; born 18 June 1982) is a former badminton player from Malaysia who plays in both women's and mixed doubles. She worked as a coach for Malaysia's national women's doubles players of which the contract ended in 2020. Koo Kien Keat
Koo Kien Keat (; born 18 September 1985) is a Malaysian former professional badminton player. He succeeded in both men's and mixed doubles but is best known for his partnership with Tan Boon Heong with whom, he reached a career high ranking of world number 1. Career In 2004, he played in the Thomas Cup with Chew Choon Eng. They gave a strong performance during the second doubles match against Flandy Limpele and Eng Hian of Indonesia in the quarter finals. Chan Chong Ming
Chan Chong Ming (born 16 February 1980) is a former Malaysian badminton player and a current head coach of Malaysian national women's doubles squad. Career Chan competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics with his then partner, Chew Choon Eng. In the first round, they defeated Theodoros Velkos and George Patis of Greece, but were then defeated in the round of 16 by Zheng Bo and Sang Yang of the China. Wong Choong Hann
Wong Choong Hann (; born 17 February 1977) is a former badminton player from Malaysia. He is the first Malaysian to win a medal in the men's singles event at the BWF World Championships. Currently he is the coaching director for the Malaysia national badminton team. Career Wong Choong Hann's career began with the 1996 Malaysia Open. The first tournament he won was the 1997 Dutch Open. He represented Malaysia in 2002, where Malaysia emerged runners-up to Indonesia in the Thomas Cup championships.
