Hacettepe Üniversitesi Basketbol Kulübü (English: Hacettepe University Basketball Club) is a professional basketball team of based in Ankara, Turkey. The team is the official athletics branch of Hacettepe University. Their home arena is the Ankara Arena with a capacity of 10,400 seats, which was opened in 2010. Ankara Arena
The Ankara Arena ( tr, Ankara Spor Salonu), is an indoor sporting arena that is located in Ankara, Turkey that opened in April 2010. The seating capacity of the arena is 10,400 spectators. Built for the 2010 FIBA World Championship, the new venue replaced the nearby Ankara Atatürk Sport Hall as the home of Turkish Basketball League clubs, Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Türk Telekom Basketbol and Optimum TED Ankara Kolejliler. In 2011, the arena hosted along with the Başkent Volleyball Hall the FIVB Girls Youth World Championship. Matches of the 2012 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Women were played at the arena between June 25-July 1. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. Melvin Sanders
Melvin Ray Sanders (born January 3, 1981) is an American former professional basketball player. He played for the National Basketball Association's San Antonio Spurs. Professional career A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Sanders, a guard and forward, played for Varese in the Italian league and Telindus Oostende in Belgium, the Dakota Wizards of the Continental Basketball Association (CBA), and the NBA Development League's Fayetteville Patriots. He earned All-CBA Second Team and All-Defensive Team honors with the Wizards in 2005. During the 2005-06 NBA season, he signed 10-day contract stints with the San Antonio Spurs. Matthew Osei Bryan-Amaning (born 9 May 1988) is a British-Ghanaian professional basketball player, who played for AS Douanes (basketball), AS Douanes of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Hüseyin Beşok (born 8 February 1975) is a retired Turkish professional basketball player. Standing at 2.11 m (6 ft 11 in) in height and 120 kg (265 lbs) in weight, he used to play as center. Ankara ( , ; ), historically known as Ancyra and Angora, is the capital of Turkey.
