Ha-101-class Submarine
The was a transport submarine built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) during World War II. The IJN planned to build 12 boats, but only 10 vessels were completed by the end of the war. The IJN called these submarines . The type name, was shortened to .The read as "Sen'yu-Shō", but the read as "Sen'yu-Ko-gata" in Japanese. Several boats were converted to tankers or mother ships for the midget submarines. Design and description The ''Ha-101''-class submarines were designed as small, cheap transport submarines to resupply isolated island garrisons. They displaced surfaced and submerged. Japanese Cruiser Ibuki (1943)
The Japanese cruiser was a heavy cruiser built for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) during World War II. The lead ship of her class of two ships, she was ordered to be converted into a light aircraft carrier in 1943 before completion to help replace the aircraft carriers sunk during the Battle of Midway in mid-1942. The conversion was delayed and finally stopped in March 1945 in order to concentrate on building small submarines. ''Ibuki'' was scrapped in the Sasebo Naval Arsenal beginning in 1946. Background The ''Ibuki''-class cruisers were ordered in the Rapid Naval Armaments Supplement Programme of November 1941, and they were slightly improved versions of the preceding after those ships had been upgraded during the late 1930s. The , also called the , is the official military history of Imperial Japan's involvement in the Pacific War from 1937 to 1945. Type 4 Ka-Tsu
The was a Japanese amphibious landing craft of World War II. The first prototype was completed in late 1943 and trials were conducted off Kure in March 1944. The , also called the Kii Strait, is a strait separating the Japanese island of Shikoku from the Kii Peninsula on the main island of Honshū. is the easternmost of the three wards of the city of Shizuoka in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
