Handball Sport Verein Hamburg is a handball club from Germany, located in Hamburg. Currently, Handball Hamburg competes in the Handball-Bundesliga. The full name in German is ''Handball Sport Verein Hamburg e.V.'' but the club has traditionally been called ''HSV Handball'', ''HSV Hamburg'' or simply ''HSV''. History Handball Sport Verein Hamburg is a merger of the former handball clubs VfL Bad Schwartau and HSV Lübeck, which joined forces in 1999. In 2002, they were moved to Hamburg for growth and renamed. Although locally known as HSV Hamburg, the club is not part of the Hamburger Sportverein and has the right to use their logo and abbreviation for promotional purposes. Casper U. Mortensen (born 14 December 1989) is a Danish handball player for HSV Hamburg and the Danish national team. He is the younger brother of Danish football player Andreas Ulrich Mortensen. Career Ajax København Casper U. Mortensen won the Danish 1st division with Ajax København and played the Danish Handball League in the following season. He was a starting player in both season. Fredericia HK Casper U. Mortensen changed scenery as he joined Fredericia HK in the 2009–2010 season, on a two-year contract. Mortensen was voted player of the year while playing for Fredericia HK. Igor Vori
Igor Vori (born 20 September 1980) is a Croatian retired handball player and current coach. He is currently working as the sports director of the Croatian national team. Vori competed for Croatia in the 2004, 2008 and the 2012 Summer Olympics. Club career Vori played in RK Zagreb and has also played for FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. He won the EHF Champions League with HSV Hamburg during the 2012–13 season. Vori was shortlisted in the IHF's election of the 2009 World Handball Player of the Year. He retired in June 2018. Domagoj Duvnjak (born 1 June 1988) is a Croatian professional handball player for THW Kiel and the Croatia national team. Duvnjak is regarded as one of the best handball players of all time alongside fellow Croatian Ivano Balić. He became a member of the Croatia national team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. He also represented Croatia at the 2012, where Croatia won bronze, and 2016 Olympics. Michael "Mimi" Kraus (born 28 September 1983) is a former German handballer. He started his senior career at Frisch Auf Göppingen in 2002 before moving to TBV Lemgo in 2007 and to HSV Hamburg in 2010.
