Hélène Pelletier
Hélène Pelletier (born January 2, 1959) is a Canadian former professional tennis player. Biography Born in Charlesbourg, Quebec City, Charlesbourg, Pelletier showed talent in water skiing as a child and only took up tennis at the age of 14. She trained for a short time at the Hopman Academy in Florida before injuring her ankle and played tennis for Rollins College. In 1979 she won a 1979 Pan American Games, Pan American Games silver medal in women's doubles and a mixed doubles bronze at the 1979 Summer Universiade, Summer Universiade in Mexico City. Pelletier played a total of 12 Fed Cup, Federation Cup ties for Canada, from 1981 to 1985. She was most prominent on the professional tour as a doubles player, often partnering Federation Cup teammate Jill Hetherington, with whom she won the 1984 Santista Textile Open, 1984 Brasil Open in Rio de Janeiro and made the round of 16 at the 1984 French Open. Charlesbourg, Quebec City
Charlesbourg is a borough of Quebec City, in the northeastern part of the city, west of the borough of Beauport. History The origins of Charlesbourg began with the concession of the seigniory of Notre-Dame-des-Anges in 1626. The seigniory extended from the Charles River northward, encompassing the modern boroughs of Limoilou and Charlesbourg. In 1665, the new Intendant of Justice, Jean Talon, set out to establish three new villages further north on the plateau. That caused friction with the Jesuits who were the seignors of the area. The first of the villages consisted of a 25-arpent square, in which a five-arpent square (the "trait carré") was reserved for the church, presbytery and cemetery. Kyle Copeland-Muse (born May 19, 1961) is an American former professional tennis player. Biography Copeland, a native of Montclair, New Jersey, graduated from Montclair High School. She is credited as the first black tennis player to appear for Louisiana State University in the SEC. She completed her collegiate career at Pepperdine University, graduating in 1982.
