1984 French Open – Women's Singles
Martina Navratilova defeated the defending champion Chris Evert in the final, 6–3, 6–1 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1984 French Open. With the win, Navratilova completed a non-calendar-year Grand Slam, dubbed the 'Martina Slam', and became only the second woman in the Open Era to simultaneously hold all four major singles titles (after Margaret Court in 1970). Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return.
