Hyperium Records was a German independent record label specializing in darkwave, neoclassical, ethereal, gothic rock, and ambient music, founded by Oliver Roesch (also known as "Oli" Roesch) and Oliver van Essenberg in 1991. Roesch died on August 1, 2002 in a motorcycle accident. Releases ''Heavenly Voices'' compilations Hyperium released a series of ''Heavenly Voices'' compilation series, which featured prominent use of female vocals in a neo-classical, neofolk, world music, trip hop or ethereal style. "Heavenly Voices" has often been used as a genre term, particularly during the mid to late 1990s. Love Is Colder Than Death claim that the series was inspired by their music. The first few compilations featured music by many of the label's own artists, as well as guest appearance by other notable bands of the ethereal/gothic/darkwave scene including Bel Canto, Faith & the Muse, Gitane Demone, In The Nursery, Miranda Sex Garden, Ordo Equitum Solis and The Moon Seven Times. ...

Darkwave
Dark wave (also typeset as darkwave) is a music genre that emerged from the new wave and post-punk movement of the late 1970s. Dark wave compositions are largely based on minor key tonality and introspective lyrics and have been perceived as being dark, romantic and bleak, with an undertone of sorrow. Miranda Sex Garden are an English music group from London. They were originally active from 1990 to 2000, reforming in 2022. Biography Formed in 1990, Katharine Blake (singer), Katharine Blake, Kelly McCusker and Jocelyn West were originally a trio of madrigal (music), madrigal singers. They were educated at The Purcell School for Young Musicians in Bushey. They were discovered by Barry Adamson when they were singing madrigals on Portobello Road in London. He invited them to sing on his ''Delusion'' soundtrack, with the song ''Il Solitario''. After that Daniel Miller (music producer), Daniel Miller invited them to sign a contract with Mute Records. Louisa John-Krol is a Melbourne-based Australian artist of the romantic folk/ pop genre - described as 'romantic pop-ethereal faerie' music by the artist herself and others. The Wake is an American gothic rock band from Columbus, Ohio, United States. The Wake has been featured on thirty plus compilations worldwide. Jarboe Devereaux, known mononymously as Jarboe (), is an American singer and musician who came to prominence as a member of the New York City experimental rock band Swans in 1985. Jarboe and Michael Gira, the founder of Swans, were the two constant members of the group until it broke up in 1997. Although absent from the group's lineup when the band reformed in 2010, Jarboe contributed background vocals and voice collage for the band's 2012 album, ''The Seer''. She has released numerous solo albums and collaborations, many of which have been self-published. She also co-composed the soundtrack of the 2009 psychological horror game '' The Path''. Digital Poodle was an electronic music, electro-industrial music, industrial/electronic body music, EBM band, based in Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was formed in 1986 and remained active until about 1995. Background Formed in 1986 by vocalist/programmer Heiki Sillaste (aka Mouth 392), the project was considered Toronto's answer to the established Vancouver-based industrial acts like Skinny Puppy, and Front Line Assembly. Digital Poodle's sound can be best described as house music, house/techno music, techno mixed with European Electronic body music (EBM) and occasionally skirting experimental and ambient soundscapes. Die Form
Die Form is a French post-industrial and electronic band formed in 1977-78. The name 'Die Form' means '(the) form/shape' in German, like the Bauhaus diary, and is a play on the English homonym 'deform' and on the French homonym 'difforme' (deformed). Biography Die Form is the primary project of the French electronic musician and multimedia artist Philippe Fichot. He began his own record label, Bain Total, in 1977 and began recording a number of experimental cassette releases as Die Form, starting with Die Form 1 in 1977, with the first Die Form vinyl release ('Die Puppe') appearing in 1982. Dark Orange
Dark Orange is an ethereal wave band from Hamburg, Germany and is probably best known for their gothic rendition of Paul Simon's "Sounds of Silence". Clock DVA are a musical group from Sheffield, England, whose style has touched on industrial, post-punk, and EBM. They formed in 1978 by Adolphus "Adi" Newton and Steven "Judd" Turner. Autopsia
Autopsia is a European art project dealing with music and visual production. Autopsia gathers authors of different professions in the realization of multimedia projects. Its art practice began in London in the late 1970s and continued during the 1980s in the art centers of the former Yugoslavia. Since 1990, Autopsia has been based in Prague, Czech Republic. At the beginning of its activity, Autopsia issued dozens of mini-recordings. In the period after 1989, twenty CDs were issued, at first for Staalplaat, then for German label Hypnobeat and London's Gymnastic Records.
