Hybrid (Spanish Band)
Hybrid was an extreme metal band formed in 2004 by musicians from other Madrid acts. Biography Hybrid was formed in March 2004 when Chus Maestro (One Last Word, Supra and formerly in Another Kind Of Death) recruited members from Human Mincer and Wormed to set up an extreme music project that would break down the walls of mainstream music. With Kike and Unai García, they began to write songs they later recorded in June 2005 as the band’s debut EP: ''Beyond Undeniable Entropy'', a 6-song MCD of avant-garde, eclectic math metal, which was released the following year by Deadwrong Records. The band has been playing live with Tool band, Tool and Deftones at the Festimad Sur'06, as well as with Napalm Death, Cephalic Carnage, Textures (band), Textures, Misery Index (band), Misery Index Moho, Machetazo and Looking For An Answer between others. Napalm Death
Napalm Death are an English grindcore band formed in 1981 in Meriden, West Midlands. None of the band's original members has been in the group since 1986. But since ''Utopia Banished'' (1992), the lineup of bassist Shane Embury, guitarist Mitch Harris, drummer Danny Herrera and lead vocalist Mark "Barney" Greenway has remained consistent through most of the band's career. From 1989 to 2004, Napalm Death were a five-piece band after they added Jesse Pintado as the replacement of one-time guitarist Bill Steer. Following Pintado's departure, the band reverted to a four-piece. Technical Death Metal
Technical death metal (also referred to as tech-death) is a musical subgenre of death metal that began and developed in the early- to mid-1990s, with particular focus on challenging, demanding instrumental skill and complex songwriting. Technical experimentation in death metal began in the late 1980s and early 1990s by four bands that are often grouped together as "technical death metal's Big Four" – Death, Pestilence, Atheist, and Cynic – as well as Nocturnus; all but Pestilence being part of the Florida death metal scene. Some of the distinct features of this genre include dynamic song structures, complex and atypical rhythmic structures, abundant use of diminished chords and arpeggios, frequent employment of odd time chord progressions, and constant use of string skipping on the guitars. Neurosis (band)
Neurosis is an American avant-garde metal band from Oakland, California. It was formed in 1985 by guitarist Scott Kelly, bassist Dave Edwardson, and drummer Jason Roeder, initially as a hardcore punk band. Chad Salter joined as a second guitarist and appeared on the band's 1987 debut ''Pain of Mind'' before being replaced by Steve Von Till in 1989. The following year, the lineup further expanded to include a keyboardist and a visual artist. Isis (sometimes stylized ISIS) was an American post-metal band formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1997. The band borrowed from and helped to evolve the post-metal sound pioneered by bands such as Neurosis and Godflesh, characterized by lengthy songs focusing on repetition and evolution of structure. The Dillinger Escape Plan
The Dillinger Escape Plan was an American metalcore band. The band was formed in 1997 in Morris Plains, New Jersey by guitarist Ben Weinman, bassist Adam Doll, vocalist Dimitri Minakakis, and drummer Chris Pennie. The band's use of odd time signatures, polyrhythms and unconventional drum patterns became a staple of their sound, although later albums incorporated more melody, and influences from a range of genres. The band's lineup shifted numerous times throughout its existence; by the time the group dissolved, Weinman was the only remaining founding member. Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia. Machetazo
Machetazo was a grindcore/goregrind band from A Coruña, Spain formed in 1994. They were one of the few surviving bands from the Spanish underground extreme music scene of the nineties. History Machetazo were formed in A Coruña, Spain in 1994 as a side project of two other death metal bands from the area. Initially, they were more noisecore-oriented than grindcore. They recorded two demos, ''46 Cabezas Aplastadas por un Yunque Oxidado'' in 1995, and ''Realmente Disfruto Comiendo Cadáveres'' in 1997. The latter was an international underground success, and in 1999 was remastered by the American label Fudgeworthy Records.
