Hvidebæk
Until 1 January 2007 Hvidebæk was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in West Zealand County on the west coast of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 98,26 km², and had a total population of 5,492 (2005). Its last mayor was Henning Fougt, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Jerslev Sjælland. Hvidebæk municipality ceased to exist as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Bjergsted, Gørlev, Høng, and Kalundborg municipalities to form the new Kalundborg municipality. West Zealand County
West Zealand County ( da, Vestsjællands Amt) is a former counties of Denmark, county (Danish language, Danish: ''Amt (subnational entity), amt'') in the west-central part of the island of Zealand (Denmark), Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The county was formed on 1 April 1970, comprising a few former counties. The county was abolished effective January 1, 2007, when it merged into Region Sjælland (i.e. ''Region Zealand''). The county was responsible for public hospitals, upper secondary schools and schools for Higher Preparatory Examination, public transport and social welfare for the disabled. Zealand ( da, Sjælland ) at 7,031 km2 is the largest and most populous island in Denmark proper (thus excluding Greenland and Disko Island, which are larger in size).
