Andrew Hurry
Andrew Hurry (born 15 October 1964) is director of cricket at Somerset County Cricket Club. A former Royal Marines fitness instructor and amateur cricketer with both Taunton and Wembdon Cricket Clubs, Hurry joined Somerset in March 2001 as Fitness Instructor, introducing yoga as an activity for the 2002 season. For the 2005 season, Hurry was named Second XI coach, but left to coach the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. Hurry rejoined Somerset as First XI coach in February 2006 to replace England bound Mark Garaway, having achieved England and Wales Cricket Board coaching qualifications up to Level Four. In the 2007 season, with Justin Langer as captain and Hurry as coach, Somerset won the County Championship second division with 10 victories in 16 matches, after finishing last in 2006. John Hurry
John Hurry DSO, DFC, (2 January 1920 – 7 June 2015) was a Royal Air Force officer who was one of the first pilots to join No. 83 Squadron of the Pathfinder Force, marking targets for British bombing attacks on Germany during the Second World War, and who later flew many sorties during the Berlin airlift.Group Captain John Hurry - obituary. Paul Hurry
Paul William George Hurry (born 9 April 1975 in Canterbury, Kent) is a British international motorcycle speedway rider. Hurry began his racing career aged 16 with the Arena Essex Hammers in 1991. In 1994 he became British under 21 champion and in 2000 he finished in second place at the British Speedway Championship. Hurry was selected to represent the Great Britain national speedway team at the 2001 Speedway World Cup Race-off, but the team failed to reach the final. After spells with various British clubs, Hurry returned to Arena Essex in 2004, where he stayed until 2007. He appeared to have retired from racing in 2007 due to ongoing problems with an arm injury, but returned to Elite League racing in 2009 to replace the injured Kyle Legault for Poole Pirates. In 2010, Hurry returned to ride for his first club, now renamed the Lakeside Hammers. Polly Hurry
Polly Hurry (2 May, 1883, Kyneton - 5 August 1963, Frankston), was an Australian painter. She was a founding member of the Australian Tonalist movement and part of the Twenty Melbourne Painters Society. Early life Described in a 2009 review by Sasha Grishin as “a South Australian Meldrumite who has been almost totally forgotten,” Mary 'Polly' Hurry in fact was born in Kyneton, Victoria, on 2 May, 1883, daughter of Henry Hurry and Mary Herring and the middle child of two siblings, Maurice and George. She spent her early years there at the family home ''South Lodge'', 29 Donnithorne Street, then was educated at Ruyton Girls' School, Kew. Training Later, at the Kyneton School of Mines, Hurry took lessons in drawing and wood carving, then studied watercolour painting with the Scottish-born artist, John Mather. During a camping holiday she met several artists, who like Mather were associates of the tonalist Max Meldrum, and decided to take up art seriously. She began draw ...
