Hurlingham Trieste
Pallacanestro Trieste 2004 is an Italian professional basketball club based in Trieste. They play in the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) since the 2018–19 season. The Allianz Dome serves as the club's home arena. History A number of Trieste teams had played in the first division Serie A, the most successful of which was Società Ginnastica Triestina (from the 1930s to the 1960s) that won several national championships in the 1930s and 1940s. Three other top division Trieste sides were Lega Nazionale Trieste (1949-1951), San Giusto Trieste (1948-1949) and Polizia Civile Trieste (1949-1950). Pallacanestro Trieste was established in 1975, it played in the top tier Serie A from 1982 to 1986, 1990 to 1997 and again from 1999 to 2004, with a best result of third in 1994. Lega Basket Serie A
The Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) is a professional men's club basketball league that has been organised in Italy since 1920. Serie A is organised by Lega Basket, which is regulated by the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP). It is the highest-tier level of the Italian league system. The LBA plays under FIBA rules and currently consists of 16 teams, with the lowest-placed team relegated to the Serie A2 and replaced by the winner of the play-offs of that tier. A total of 99 teams have competed in the LBA since its inception. Seventeen teams have been crowned champions, with Olimpia Milano having won the title a record 28 times, and Virtus Bologna 16 times. 2017–18 Serie A2 Basket
The 2017–18 Serie A2 season, known for sponsorship reasons as the Serie A2 Old Wild West, is the 44th season of the Italian basketball second league Serie A2 Basket. The season started on September 29, 2017, and will end in June 2018 with the last game of the promotion playoffs finals. Rules The season is composed of 32 teams with a regional subdivision in two equal groups of sixteen, East and West. Each team plays twice each team in its subgroup, the first ranked team of each group then plays the eighth ranked team of the other group (e.g. East No. 1 against West No. 8), then the second best against the seventh, and so on, to form a promotion playoffs (for one place) of sixteen teams. Dino Meneghin
Dino Meneghin (, ; born 18 January 1950) is an Italian former professional basketball player. He is widely considered to be the best Italian player ever, as well as one of Europe's all-time greats. A 2.06 m (6 ft 9 in) tall center, Meneghin was born in Alano di Piave, Veneto (northeast Italy). On 20 November 1966, when he was 16 years old, he played in his first game in the Italian League, with Ignis Varese. He played the last game of his career at the age of 45. In 2003, Meneghin became a Basketball Hall of Fame player and in 2010, he became a FIBA Hall of Fame player. Gregor Fučka (; born 7 August 1971) is a Slovenian-Italian retired professional basketball player and coach. A 215 cm (7' ") forward-center, he was a both a Mister Europa and Euroscar laureate in 2000. Professional career Fučka played with Smelt Olimpija, in Yugoslavia, from 1988–90, then he moved to Italy, playing with Stefanel Trieste (1990–1994), Stefanel Milano (1994–1997), and Teamsystem Bologna a.k.a. Terry Tyler
Terry Christopher Tyler (born October 30, 1956) is a retired American basketball player. Amateur career A 6'7" forward from Northwestern High School, Tyler signed to play for Dick Vitale at the University of Detroit. Long established himself quickly, averaging a double-double by his sophomore year (17.2 ppg, 11.0 rpg), and the team would produce an unprecedented run during his time with the Titans (1974-1978). Vitale added future NBA players such as Terry Duerod, John Long and Dennis Boyd and built a dominating independent program at the Jesuit university.
