Hungarian Union (Serbia)
Hungarian Union ( hu, Magyar Összefogás Koalíció; sr, Коалиција Мађарска слога / Koalicija Mađarska sloga) was a political coalition in the legislative elections in Serbia, on 21 January, 2007. The alliance won 0.32% of the popular vote, and no seats in the parliament. The alliance was formed by the Democratic Fellowship of Vojvodina Hungarians led by Sándor Páll and Democratic Party of Vojvodina Hungarians Democratic Party of Vojvodina Hungarians (, VMDP, , DSVM) is a political party in Serbia representing the Hungarian minority. Serbia elects a legislature and a president on a national level. The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, National Assembly of Serbia (''Narodna skupština Republike Srbije'') has 250 members elected for a four-year term. Serbia has a multi-party system, with numerous political parties, parties in which no one party often has a chance of gaining power alone, and political parties, parties must work with each other to form coalition governments. A party must receive at least 3% (lowered from 5% in 2020) of the votes in the entire country to qualify for any seats, except for national minorities' parties, who only have to reach 0.4%. Democratic Fellowship Of Vojvodina Hungarians
The Democratic Fellowship of Vojvodina Hungarians ( hu, Vajdasági Magyarok Demokratikus Közössége, VMDK; sr-Cyrl, Демократска заједница војвођанских Мађара , Demokratska zajednica vojvođanskih Mađara, DZVM) is a political party in Serbia representing the Hungarian minority. Established in 1990, it was first led by András Ágoston and then by Sándor Páll until his death in 2010. it is led by Áron Csonka. The party's headquarters are in Bečej. It was the first party of the Hungarian minority in Serbia, and it had MPs in several compositions of the National Assembly of Serbia during the 1990s. However, the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians took the primate among Hungarian voters in 1997, and VMDK has seen only sporadic participation in the National Assembly and the Parliament of Vojvodina since. Sándor Páll
Sándor Páll ( Serbian: Шандор Пал, ''Šandor Pal'') (15 February 1954, Bačko Petrovo Selo – 7 July 2010, Novi Sad) was an ethnic Hungarian politician in Serbia and leader of Democratic Fellowship of Vojvodina Hungarians. Born in Bačko Petrovo Selo in Serbia to Hungarian father and Serbian mother, he graduated in 1977 as a teacher of Yugoslav literature at the University of Novi Sad and got his MB in 1988. Formerly a schoolteacher, he was afterwards a professor at the University of Novi Sad. He died in Novi Sad, Serbia on 7 July 2010 at the age of 56. Along with András Ágoston, he was one of the leaders of the coalition " Hungarian Union" which contested the 2007 Serbian parliamentary election, but won no seats. András Ágoston
András Ágoston ( sr, Андраш Агоштон, translit=Andraš Agošton; born 1944) is a Serbian retired politician. An ethnic Hungarian, he led the Democratic Party of Vojvodina Hungarians from its foundation in 1997 to 2012. He was one of the leaders of the coalition " Hungarian Union" on 2007 Serbian parliamentary election together with Sándor Páll that won no seats.
