Hungarian Golf Federation
The Hungarian Golf Federation ( hu, Magyar Golf Szövetség) is Hungary's national association of golf courses, clubs and facilities, a member of the International Golf Federation, also authorized by the United States Golf Association. It was founded in 1990 and had about 1200 members in 2007. The Federation organizes open days to advertise the game. In a 2007 SWOT analysis the Federation summarized the situation of golf in Hungary today. In 2019, Ádám Kása, who has since turned professional and competes on the Alps Tour, Pro Golf Tour and the Stella Artois Swiss Pro Series (currently 6th on the Order of Merit, was the highest ranked Hungarian Amateur golfer from Hungary over the 2019 season on the European Golf Rankings and plans to be the first Hungarian born golfer to compete at the Olympics. Alps Tour
The Alps Tour is a developmental professional golf tour for men which is sanctioned by the national golf associations of France, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Morocco. Established in 2001, it is a third level tour, the highest level of men's golf in Europe being the European Tour, and the second level being the Challenge Tour. Other third level tours in Europe include the United Kingdom-based PGA EuroPro Tour, the Germany-based Pro Golf Tour, and the Nordic League in the Nordic countries. Beginning in July 2015, the four third-level tours will carry Official World Golf Ranking points. Like the other third-tier European tours, the top ten players on the Order of Merit are exempt through the second stage of European Tour Qualifying School, and the top five win playing privileges on the Challenge Tour. Stella Artois ( ) is a pilsner beer, first brewed in 1926 by Brouwerij Artois in Leuven, Belgium. In its original form, the beer is 5.2 per cent ABV, the country's standard for pilsners. The beer is also sold in other countries like the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia, where it has a reduced ABV. The Pro Golf Tour, formerly the EPD Tour (European Professional Development Tour), is a developmental professional golf tour based in Germany. It is a third-level tour, the highest level of men's golf in Europe being the European Tour, and the second level being the Challenge Tour. Ádám Kása (born 25 June 1984) is a Hungarian professional golfer. He was the highest ranked Hungarian amateur golfer in Hungary over the 2019 season on the European Golf Rankings. Early life Kása was born in Zalaegerszeg and was first introduced to golf at the age of 19 by his flatmate after coming across some disused clubs in a storage cellar. Prior to this Kása was a semi-professional Rugby League player. Amateur career Kása had a strong amateur career from 2015 to 2019. He competed in regional, national and international events across the globe. His first amateur win came at the Tamworth Easter Vardon event in 2018. Professional career Kása turned professional in October 2019 and currently plays on the Swiss Pro Series and MENA Tour.
