Hung Meng-chi
Hung Meng-chi (; born 20 April 1947) is a Taiwanese politician. He was the Minister of Culture of the Republic of China from 23 January 2015 until 20 May 2016, having previously served as acting minister since 8 December 2014. Early life Hung received his bachelor's degree in history from Tamkang University. He went on to earn his master's and doctoral degrees in East Asian Studies from National Chengchi University. Career Hung has taught at several universities, such as Taipei National University of the Arts, Ming Chuan University, Tunghai University and Fo Guang University. He also served as a cultural official for the Taipei County Government. He attempted to resign in September 2015, after '' Next Magazine'' alleged that the Ministry of Culture had bribed members of the Kuomintang. Ming Chuan University (MCU; ) is a private university in Shilin District, Taipei, Taiwan, accredited in the United States of America and by AACSB. Ming Chuan University was ranked in the 451-500 range in QS Top Asia Universities Ranking 2022 and positioned 1501+ in 2023 by Times Higher Education ranking. Mao Chi-kuo (; born 4 October 1948 in Fenghua, Chekiang) is a Taiwanese politician, who served as the Premier, the President of Executive Yuan from 2014 to 2016. Early life Mao was born on 4 October 1948, in Fenghua, Chekiang Province. Mao obtained his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the National Cheng Kung University in Tainan in 1971. He obtained his Master's of Engineering in Community and Regional Development from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand in 1975, then his Ph.D. in civil engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in United States in 1982. The Kuomintang (KMT), also referred to as the Guomindang (GMD), the Nationalist Party of China (NPC) or the Chinese Nationalist Party (CNP), is a major political party in the Republic of China, initially on the Chinese mainland and in Taiwan after 1949. Fo Guang University (FGU; ; lit. ''Buddha's Light University'') is a private university in Linmei Village, Jiaoxi Township, Yilan County, Taiwan. It was founded by the Chinese Mahāyāna Buddhist monastic order Fo Guang Shan in 2000 and as such represents the culmination of education efforts of the order that started in 1963 with establishing Chinese Buddhist Research Institute at Fo Guang Shan.
