Hundred Of Dudley
__NOTOC__ The Hundred of Dudley is a cadastral unit of hundred located in the Australian state of South Australia on Kangaroo Island and which covers an area of including the full extent of the Dudley Peninsula (known as the MacDonnell Peninsula from 1857 to 1986) and some land to the west of the peninsula. The hundred was proclaimed by Governor Anthony Musgrave on 13 August 1874 along with its parent county, the County of Carnarvon. The hundred is reported as being named by Governor Musgrave after his father-in-law, Dudley Field who was an American jurist. As of 1905, the hundred was described as follows: Both the soil and timber are good and, from Willson's orchard, apples were being picked and stored in cases betwixt layers of dry grass to preserve them from the constant attentions of the Rosella parrot... At a point between Cape Hart and False Cape the property of Mr. William Lyall is situated. Its owner may be justly termed one of the hardest workers on the Island. ...

Island Beach, South Australia
Island Beach is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia overlooking Eastern Cove in Nepean Bay on the north-west coast of the Dudley Peninsula on Kangaroo Island about from the state capital of Adelaide and about from Penneshaw. John Stewart Browne subdivided Island Beach in 1961 into 254 allotments, with average block sizes exceeding . Development stalled for a number of years, due largely to a reluctance of the local council to construct roads through the estate, which under planning regulations of the time were not the responsibility of the developer. In the late 1970s a separate land subdivision occurred to the south of the original estate. Known locally as Carter's Estate, these allotments were more traditionally under in size. Baudin Beach is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located on Dudley Peninsula on the north coast of Kangaroo Island about south of the capital city of Adelaide and about west of Penneshaw. It is named in 2002 after the French navigator Nicolas Baudin in honor of his exploration of Kangaroo Island in 1802. Prior to 2002, Baudin Beach was known as ''American Beach'', being the name given to the land subdivision of the area in 1966. The name was changed in 2002 to avoid confusion with the originally named American Beach which is located a short distance north of the subdivision.
