Huangzhou
Huangzhou District is an District of the People's Republic of China, urban district of Huanggang, Hubei province, China. History In 845 BC Marquis Wen 文侯 Huang Meng 黃孟 (aka Huang Zhang 黃璋) moved the capital of the State of Huang from Yicheng to Huangchuan (present-day Huangchuan, Henan). Huang Xi's descendants ruled State of Huang until 648 BC when it was destroyed by the State of Chu. The Marquis of Huang, Marquis Mu 穆侯 Huang Qisheng 黃企生, fled to the state of Qi. The people of Huang were forced to relocate to Chu. They settled in the region of present-day Hubei province, in a region known as the Jiangxia Prefecture 江夏郡 during the Han dynasty (206 BC-AD 220). Huanggang
Huanggang is a prefecture-level city in easternmost Hubei Province, China. It is situated to the north of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and is bounded in the north by the Dabie Mountains and is named after Mount Huanggang. It borders Henan in the north, Anhui in the east and Jiangxi in the south. Huanggang Normal University
Huanggang Normal University (HNU; ) is a full-time provincial public normal university in Huangzhou District, Huanggang, Hubei, China. It is under the Educational Administration of Hubei Province. HNU offers courses to undergraduate students as well as other training courses for continuing education. History The predecessor of HNU was Huangzhou Normal School founded in 1905, and was renamed Huanggang County Teachers school of Hubei Province (1937), and Huanggang Teachers school of Hubei Province (1950). HNU was approved by the State Council under the name of Huanggang Normal College in 1978 and it was among the first National Colleges for advanced training in 1988. Li Siguang
Li Siguang (; 26 October 1889 – 29 April 1971), also known as J. S. Lee, was a Chinese geologist and politician. He was the founder of China's geomechanics. He was an ethnic Mongol. He made outstanding contributions, which changed the situation of "oil deficiency" in the country, enabling the large-scale development of oil fields to raise the country to the ranks of the world's major oil producers. Biography Li was born as Li Zhongkui () in Huanggang, Hubei Province. His paternal grandfather was a Mongolian beggar who migrated to Hubei in search of a better livelihood, and his family originally had the Mongol surname "Kuli" () or "Ku" (). Emperor Yuwang (帝榆罔), surname Jiang (姜), was the eighth and the last legendary Yan Emperor during the era of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors. History According to the ''Records of Emperors and Kings'' by Huangfu Mi, he was the last Yan Emperor of the Shennong clan. Born in Chengliu (承留) (present day southeast of Kaifeng County, Kaifeng, Henan Province) as the son of Jiang Ke (姜克), the sixth or seventh Yan Emperor.
