Huang Chung-yi (basketball)
Huang Chung-yi (; born 12 October 1967 in Hualien County, Taiwan) is a Taiwanese retired baseball player. Career A bright star since young, Huang competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics and won the silver medal. After the 1992 Olympics Huang entered CPBL along with then just-established Jungo Bears and stayed with the team and its successors Sinon Bears and Sinon Bulls to date. With his seniority and the so many accomplishments achieved, he was appointed as head coach by the Sinon Bulls after the end of CPBL's 2006 season, but still maintains the identity of player. Asian Baseball Championship
The Asian Baseball Championship is the main championship tournament between national baseball teams in Asia, governed by the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA). It is held every other year in odd-numbered years and since 1983 it also functions as the qualification games for the Baseball at the Summer Olympics if the event year is exactly one year before the Olympics. In even-numbered years, the Asian Baseball Cup is held, to determine two qualifiers — one from the Eastern Division and one from the Western Division — to join teams from China, Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. The Taichung Baseball Field () is a multi-purpose stadium in North District, Taichung, North District, Taichung, Taiwan. Built in 1935 during the Taiwan under Japanese rule era, this stadium has been repeatedly refurbished and currently can seat 8,500 people. This stadium has been the home of professional baseball teams such as Fubon Guardians, Jungo Bears (1993–1995), Fubon Guardians, Sinon Bears (first half 1996), Fubon Guardians, Sinon Bulls(second half 1996–2012) of Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) and Taichung Agan(1997–2002) of Taiwan Major League (TML). The China Times Eagles () is a defunct professional baseball team belonging to the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) that existed between 1993 and 1997. In baseball, a home run (abbreviated HR) is scored when the ball is hit in such a way that the batter is able to circle the bases and reach home plate safely in one play without any errors being committed by the defensive team. The Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL; ) is the top-tier professional baseball league in Taiwan. The league was established in 1989 and played the first season in 1990. CPBL eventually absorbed the competing Taiwan Major League in 2003. As of the 2023 season, the CPBL consists of six organizations, all of which have teams in the main league and farm league.
