Hripsime Simonyan
Hripsime Simonyan (, born on January 2 (15), 1916 in Kars – September 28, 1998, Yerevan) was an Armenian artist and sculptor, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of decorative art and ceramics. She was rewarded as being hePeople's Artist of Armenia (1974). Career Hripsime Simonyan was born in 1916 in Kars. In 1945, she graduated from the Tbilisi Art academy, majoring in sculpture, minor ceramics (several Professors Y. Nicoladze, S. Kobuladze). From 1956 she took over the position of head of ceramics department of the Yerevan State Art and Theatre institute, from 1977 she has been awarded with a professor degree. In 1945, she started the department of applied arts within the Armenian Painters' (Artist) Association, which she led until 1975. When the Yerevan Crystal factory launched mass production of crystals, Hripsime designed a series of miniatures and tableware sets. Abovyan Street ( hy, Աբովյան Փողոց), is a street at the central Kentron district of the Armenian capital Yerevan. It was known as Astafyan Street between 1868 and 1920. The street runs from the central Republic Square to the statue of prominent Armenian writer Khachatur Abovian (1809–1848), who the street is named after. Abovyan Street is the first planned street of the Armenian capital. Located at downtown Yerevan, Abovyan Street is mainly home to cultural and educational institutions, luxurious residential buildings, elite brand shops, commercial offices, coffee shops, hotels, restaurants and night clubs. Creative arts Literature Literature began in Armenia around 401 A.D. The majority of the literary arts were created by Moses of Khorene, in the 5th century. In the late 17th century, Alexander Tertzakian was a renowned Armenian writer who created several works considered to be among Armenia's classics.
