Hriday Lani is a noted Indian script and dialogues writer. He is the winner of Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue for the 1999 film ''Sarfarosh'' along with Pathik Vats. Career Lani has written script and dialogues for various Hindi films. He has written dialogues for commercially successful films like '' Agni Sakshi'' (1996), ''Yeshwant'' (1997), ''Yugpurush'' (1998), ''Sarfarosh'' (1999). ''Salaam Bombay!'' is a 1988 Indian Hindi-language drama film, directed, co-written and co-produced by Mira Nair. The screenwriter was Nair's creative collaborator Sooni Taraporevala. This was the first feature film directed by Nair. The film depicts the daily lives of children living in slums in Bombay (now Mumbai), India's largest city. ''Sarfarosh'' () is a 1999 Indian action drama film written, produced and directed by John Matthew Matthan and starring Aamir Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Sonali Bendre and Mukesh Rishi. John started working on ''Sarfarosh'' in 1992. Seven years were spent on the research, pre-production and production till it finally released in 1999. The film deals with an Indian police officer's quest to stop cross-border terrorism. The film was released just before the Kargil conflict when tensions between India and Pakistan were high.
