The Hospital Sírio-Libanês (Syrian-Lebanese Hospital) is one of the most important hospitals in Brazil and South America. The hospital was founded by the large Syrian and Lebanese community of São Paulo in 1921. It is one of the most well-known health facilities in Brazil due to the high quality of care. Order of Civil Merit ( ar, وسام الاستحقاق المدني) (french: Ordre du Mérite civil) is a Syrian decoration. It was established on 25 June 1953. The decoration is awarded for service to the state or to the Arab cause. It has five classes, including the Excellent Class awarded in badge of star; the First Class, awarded in badge or star; the Second Class; the Third Class and the Fourth Class. The Excellent and the First Class are worn on a suit, while the Second Class is worn on a ribbon around the neck. The Third and the Fourth Class are worn on a ribbon on the right side of a chest. Asma Al-Assad
Asma Fawaz al-Assad (born 11 August 1975) is the First Lady of Syria. Born and raised in London to Syrian parents, she is married to the 19th and current President of Syria, Bashar al-Assad. Assad graduated from King's College London in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in computer science and French literature. She had a career in investment banking and was set to begin an MBA at Harvard University when she married Bashar al-Assad in December 2000.
