Hornostaivka ( uk, Горностаївка) is a village in Henichesk Raion, Kherson Oblast, southern Ukraine. Hornostaivka belongs to the Novotroitske settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Raion
A raion (also spelt rayon) is a type of administrative unit of several post-Soviet states. The term is used for both a type of subnational entity and a division of a city. The word is from the French (meaning 'honeycomb, department'), and is commonly translated as "district" in English. A raion is a standardized administrative entity across most of the former Soviet Union and is usually a subdivision two steps below the national level, such as a subdivision of an oblast. However, in smaller USSR republics, it could be the primary level of administrative division. Henichesk Raion
Henichesk Raion ( uk, Генічеський район) is one of the 5 administrative raions (districts) of Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine. Its administrative centre is located in the city of Henichesk. Population: On 18 July 2020, as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, the number of raions of Kherson Oblast was reduced from 18 to five, and the area of Henichesk Raion was significantly expanded. Three abolished raions, Ivanivka, Nyzhni Sirohozy, and Novotroitske Raions, were merged into Henichesk Raion. A hromada ( uk, територіальна громада, lit=territorial community, translit=terytorialna hromada) is a basic unit of administrative division in Ukraine, similar to a municipality.
