FC Honka
FC Honka is a Finnish football club based in Espoo. It was founded in 1957 as Tapion Honka, and changed its name to FC Honka in 1975. The club currently play in the Finnish premier division (''Veikkausliiga''), having been promoted for the first time in their history at the end of the 2005 season. It plays its home matches at the Tapiolan Urheilupuisto. FC Honka is largely renowned in Finland for its extensive youth scheme with over 1,000 youth players playing in various age groups. It also has a women's team in the Kansallinen Liiga. History Until 2005 FC Honka was thought of as a "nearly, but not quite" team, a promising but always underachieving side in the Finnish First Division (Ykkönen). Honka Monka
The Honka Monka was a nightclub in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens, New York. It was originally opened by Marvin Gray in 1969 as a Latin club, but soon rock and soul acts were booked for the club. Acts who performed at the club include Ike & Tina Turner, Wilson Pickett, Little Richard, and Aesop's Fables. History Marvin Gray opened the Honka Monka on Queens Boulevard near 40th Street in January 1969. In 1970, Gray was co-founded a record company, Grande Records, which specialized in rock and soul music. He sometimes promoted acts from the label at the club. Gray spent six months designing the club whose name derived from a hotel at which he had visited in Japan. He intended the Honka Monka to be a Latin club after producing Latin shows in nearby theaters, but the audience who came were unfamiliar with Latin dances so he switched booked rock bands instead. Anttoni Honka (born 5 October 2000) is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman who currently plays with the Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL). Honka was selected by the Hurricanes in the 3rd round (83rd overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Honka was a "high risk, high reward" prospect who was ranked #22 on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau final list of 2019 NHL Draft eligible European skaters. Honka played the 2017–18 season in the JYP Jyväskylä system. Fritz Honka
Friedrich Paul "Fritz" Honka (31 July 1935 – 19 October 1998) was a German serial killer. Between 1970 and 1975 he killed at least four women from Hamburg's red light district, keeping three of the bodies in his flat. Youth Honka was born on 31 July 1935 in Leipzig as the third of ten children. His father Fritz Honka (Senior) was a joiner, and his mother Else Honka worked as a cleaner. Three of his siblings died during birth. During his later trial, Honka described his youth thus: "My father was in a concentration camp. I too was in a concentration camp for children. I was freed by the Russians. My father too. School afterwards didn't amount to much." His mother was said to be unable to cope with her nine children. Honka grew up in children's homes in Leipzig. His father worked as a stoker in Leipzig. His father was said to have been sent to a concentration camp for working for the Communists. Hartmut Honka (born 11 May 1978 in Frankfurt am Main) is a German conservative politician and Member of Parliament in the Landtag of Hesse.
