Hong Kong Chief Commissioner
Chief Commissioner ( Chinese: 香港總監), usually abbreviated as CC, is an administrative head of The Scout Association of Hong Kong appointed by Hong Kong Chief Scout. It was formerly known as Colony Commissioner. The first commissioner, Alexander Anderson McHardy, was appointed on 1 May 1914 when Hong Kong Branch was formally registered at The Scout Association. The current Chief Commissioner is Chan Kit Chu. The Scout Association Of Hong Kong
The Scout Association of Hong Kong is the largest scouting organisation in Hong Kong. Scout training was first introduced in Hong Kong in 1909 and 1910 by the Protestant based Boys' Brigade, Chums Scout Patrols and British Boy Scouts. The Catholic St. Joseph's College, formed its Boy Scout Troop in 1913, and registered with the Boy Scouts Association of the United Kingdom in 1914. The Boy Scouts Association formed its Hong Kong Local Association in July 1915 which became its Hong Kong Branch. After changes to the name of the United Kingdom organisation in 1967, the branch name was changed to The Scout Association Hong Kong Branch. In 1977, The Scout Association of Hong Kong was constituted as an autonomous association and successor to The Scout Association's Hong Kong Branch and became the 111th member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) in 1977. Victor Halward
Nelson Victor Halward (, called Victor; 12 December 189717 December 1953) was an English Anglican bishop in Hong Kong and British Columbia. He was the Colony Commissioner of the Boy Scout Association, Hong Kong Branch from 1934 to 1950. Biography Victor Halward was educated at The King's School, Canterbury. In 1916 he went straight from school into the army, at first in the Royal Artillery, then in 1917 he was commissioned as second lieutenant in the Gloucestershire Regiment. In 1919 he was awarded the Military Cross: :For gallantry and devotion to duty during an attack on nenemy position S.W. of Fleurbaix, on 30 September 1918. His platoon was selected to secure and hold an enemy position on a flank, and he pushed them forward and occupied an advanced position, inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy. The Silver Bauhinia Star (, SBS) is the second Bauhinia Star rank in the honours system of Hong Kong, awarded to people who have taken a leading part in public affairs or voluntary work over a long period. Pau Shiu Hung
Pau Shiu-hung, SBS, ( Chinese: 鮑紹雄, born 1942) is the former chief commissioner of the Scout Association of Hong Kong, appointed on 1 January 2004 by then-Chief Executive of Hong Kong and Chief Scout of Hong Kong Tung Chee-hwa. Life Pau was born in 1942. He received his primary education at Lai Chack Primary School, secondary education at La Salle College and tertiary education at the University of Hong Kong. Graduated in 1967, he joined the Architectural Office, a branch of the Public Works Services in Hong Kong Government. He was appointed as the Director of Architectural Services in 1997 and retired in 2003. He is currently Vice President of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. The Bronze Bauhinia Star (, BBS) is the lowest rank in Order of the Bauhinia Star in Hong Kong, created in 1997 to replace the British honours system of the Order of the British Empire after the transfer of sovereignty to People's Republic of China and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). It is awarded to persons who have given outstanding service over a long period of time, but in a more limited field or way than that required for the Silver Bauhinia Star. Hui Chiu-yin
Hui Chiu-yin BBS ( Chinese: 許招賢), also known as John Hui, is the director and general manager of New World First Ferry in Hong Kong after his retirement from the post of Chief Superintendent of Marine Regional in Hong Kong Police Force in 1996. He had been the Chief Commission of The Scout Association of Hong Kong from 1997 to 2003. Scout Hui was awarded the Queen's Scout in 1960 when he was in the 7th Hong Kong Group of Hong Kong Scout Association and became a scout leader later. He severed in the Island North District, Island Region, the Headquarters and Asia-Pacific Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. He succeeded Chau Cham-son to be the Chief Commission from January 1, 1997. He successfully met the target to increase the number of Scouts to 83,000 in 2002. Chau Cham Son
Chau Cham-son (), OBE, CStJ, JP, was the Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Hong Kong from 1985 to 1996. He was the son of Sir Chau Tsun-nin. Education He attended Wah Yan College, an eminent Roman Catholic Jesuit secondary school for boys in Hong Kong, and later graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a degree in Architecture. He qualified as a Registered Architect. He also undertook further post-graduate studies at the University of Liverpool and the University of Melbourne and qualified as a registered town planner.
