Silver Bauhinia Star
The Silver Bauhinia Star (, SBS) is the second Bauhinia Star rank in the honours system of Hong Kong, awarded to people who have taken a leading part in public affairs or voluntary work over a long period. The award was created in 1997 to replace the British honours system (such as Order of the British Empire) after the transfer of sovereignty to People's Republic of China and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Medal for Bravery (Gold) (Chinese language, Chinese: 金英勇勳章, MBG) is the first Medal for Bravery rank of the Hong Kong honours system. Norman Chan
Norman Chan Tak-lam, GBS, JP (born 1954), is a Hong Kong banker, treasury official, and civil servant. Chan was Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority from 2009 to 2019. He previously served as Director of the Office of the Chief Executive of the HKSAR and Regional Vice-Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank. Career Norman Chan graduated from Queen's College, Hong Kong, and then earned a degree in sociology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 1976 Chan entered the Hong Kong Civil Service as an Administrative Officer. By 1991 he was appointed a Deputy Director of Monetary Management at the Exchange Fund of Hong Kong. Ngai Shiu-kit
Ngai Shiu-kit, OBE, SBS, JP (; 14 November 1924 – 2015) was a Hong Kong entrepreneur and a former member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (1985–97) for the Industrial (Second) constituency, representing the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong and Provisional Legislative Council. He was also a Hong Kong delegate for the 9th National People's Congress from 1998 to 2003. Biography Ngai was born in Hong kong on 14 November 1924. He graduated from the Wah Yan College, Hong Kong and the Lingnan University in Canton in engineering management in 1948 and studied abroad in England. York Chow Yat-ngok (; born 1947, Hong Kong), GBS, SBS, MBE, was the Secretary for Food and Health of Hong Kong and a member of the Executive Council. He was appointed as Secretary for Health, Welfare and Food in 2004. The position has since been renamed to Secretary for Food and Health from reshuffling in 2007. Lessie Wei Chui Kit-yee (), SBS, JP is a retired Hong Kong civil servant and Silver Bauhinia Star awardee for her contributions in 2001. Wei is also a Justice of the Peace. Career Wei joined the Hong Kong Government in May 1970, one year after graduating from university. Wei was a member of the Trade Officer Grade for 13 years before becoming an Administrative Officer Staff Grade C in 1983. Marvin Cheung Kin-tung, GBS OBE JP (, 20 November 1947 – 13 September 2014) was a Non-official Member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong. He also held the position of Chairman of the Airport Authority Hong Kong and was a Council Member of the Open University of Hong Kong.
