Grouville
Grouville is one of the twelve parishes of Jersey in the Channel Islands. The parish is around east of St Helier. The parish covers a surface area of 4,354 vergées (7.8 km²). The Ladies European Tour is a professional golf tour for women which was founded in 1978. It is based at Buckinghamshire Golf Club near London in England. Like many UK-based sports organisations it is a company limited by guarantee, a legal structure which enables it to focus on maximising returns to its members through prize money, rather than on making profits for investors. The tour is run by a Board of Directors and a Players' Council. Most of the players on the tour are European, with members from more than 40 countries internationally. The tour operates tournaments across five continents. History The U.S.-based LPGA was founded in 1950, but women's professional golf was slower to get established in Europe. Stroke play, also known as medal play, is a scoring system in the sport of golf in which the total number of strokes is counted over one or more rounds of 18 holes. In stroke play, the winner is the player who has taken the fewest strokes over the course of the round, or rounds. Marie Wennersten
Marie Louise Inger Wennersten From (born 17 March 1958) is a retired Swedish professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour. Early life and amateur career Wennersten was born in Uddevalla on the west-coast of Sweden and played golf from age 10. As an amateur, representing Lyckorna Golf Club in Ljungskile south of Uddevalla, she won the Swedish Junior Match-play Championship in 1977 and the Swedish Match-play Championship in 1981, successfully defending the title in 1982. She represented Sweden at the European Lady Junior's Team Championship four times and was part of the Swedish team winning the 1978 event. Peggy Conley
Peggy Conley (born 1947) is a retired American professional golfer. Career At just 16, Conley played her way into the championship match of the 1963 U.S. Women's Amateur and lost 2 and 1 to Seattle's Anne Quast. In 1964, she won the U.S. Girls' Junior title after losing the final match the year before, beating Laura MacIvor, 6 and 5. In 1966, she captured the Women's Western Amateur. Conley became the first woman to receive a University of Washington golf scholarship. At 29, she qualified for the LPGA Tour, where she recorded top-10 finishes at the 1978 U.S. Women's Open and the 1979 LPGA Championship. Losing her card after six seasons, she turned to the Ladies European Tour (LET), where she played another half-dozen seasons. Kitrina Douglas (born 6 September 1960) is an English ex-professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour. Douglas won the British Ladies Amateur in 1982 and played in the 1982 Great Britain & Ireland Curtis Cup team. Jane Connachan (born 25 February 1964) is a Scottish professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour. Amateur career Connachan was considered a child prodigy, playing competitive golf constantly since the age of 10, and in the 17 years until she suddenly retired at age 27, accumulated an almost unparalleled record. She first played for Scotland when she was 15. She won the Australian Girls' Amateur and the Girls Amateur Championship, twice. Deborah Ann Dowling (26 July 1962 – 18 January 2019) was an English professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour. Career Dowling represented England at the 1979 Girls Home Internationals. She turned professional and joined the Ladies European Tour (LET) in 1981 and won six times, at the 1983 Melcade International Tournament and the Ladies Jersey Open, the 1985 Portuguese Ladies Open, the 1986 Laing Ladies Classic and the 1986 and the 1989 Eastleigh Classic. She also won the 1989 Thailand Open and the 1996 Singapore Open on the Ladies Asian Golf Tour. In 1985 and 1986, she finished fifth on the LET Order of Merit.
