The Hong Kong ATP Challenger is a tennis List of tennis tournaments, tournament held in Hong Kong since 2015. The event is part of the ATP Challenger Tour and is played on outdoor hardcourt, hard courts. This was the first time since 1999 that a Challenger event was held in Hong Kong. This was also the highest-level professional men’s tennis tournament held in Hong Kong since the final edition of the Hong Kong Open (tennis), Hong Kong Open (a defunct ATP Tour-level event) in 2002. ATP Challenger Tour
The ATP Challenger Tour, known until the end of 2008 as the ATP Challenger Series, is a series of international men's professional tennis tournaments. The Challenger Tour events are the second-highest tier of tennis competition, behind the ATP Tour. The ITF World Tennis Tour tournaments are on the entry-level of international professional tennis competition. The ATP Challenger Tour is administered by the Association of Tennis Professionals. Players who succeed on the ATP Challenger Tour earn sufficient ranking points to become eligible for main draw or qualifying draw entry at ATP Tour tournaments. It is typically made of rigid materials such as asphalt or concrete, and covered with acrylic resins to seal the surface and mark the playing lines, while providing some cushioning. Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. Hong Kong Open (tennis)
The Hong Kong Open (currently sponsored by Prudential and called the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open) is a professional tennis tournament in Hong Kong SAR. Organised by the Hong Kong Tennis Association, the tournament is held annually in early October in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay on the WTA International tier. The Hong Kong Tennis Open was previously named the Salem Open that began in 1973 and discontinued in 2002. The current tournament resumed in September 2014 in Hong Kong. Kyle Steven Edmund (born 8 January 1995) is a South African born-British professional tennis player. He has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 14 and was the top-ranked male British tennis player from March 2018 through October 2019. Hsieh Cheng-peng (; born 22 September 1991) is an inactive tennis player from Taiwan. Alongside Yang Tsung-hua he won the 2008 Wimbledon Championships – Boys' doubles title. Saketh Myneni (born 19 October 1987) is an Indian professional tennis player. He is conferred with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2017 and represents India in the Davis Cup. He won a gold medal in Mixed doubles and a silver medal in Men's doubles event at Incheon Asian Games 2014.
