Honduras, officially the Republic of Honduras, is a country in Central America. Liga Betcris de Honduras (''Honduran National Professional Football League'') is the highest division of football in Honduras. The league season is divided into Opening (autumn) and Closing (spring). One team is relegated to the Liga de Ascenso (the team with fewest points in Opening and Closing) and one team is promoted from Liga de Ascenso. Club Deportivo Olimpia is a professional Honduran football club based in Tegucigalpa, Francisco Morazán. The club is the nation's most successful team both in the domestic league and in international club competitions. History Olimpia was founded as a baseball club on June 12, 1912, by Héctor Pineda Ugarte, Carlos Bram, Arturo Bram, Enrique Buik, Santiago Buik, Miguel Sanchez, Samuel Inestrosa Gómez, and Ramón Field. In 1917, it also became a football team. C.D. Olimpia is the most successful football team in Honduras, having won 31 domestic league titles since it was founded in 1912, the latest being the 2019–20 Apertura & Clausura season. Juticalpa F
Juticalpa () is the capital of Olancho Department in Honduras, with a population of 69,850 (2020 calculation), and the municipal seat of Juticalpa Municipality. Situated in a broad river valley alongside the Rio Juticalpa, the town is a commercial centre for much of Olancho's ranching and agricultural economy. Its Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción, devoted to the immaculate Conception, is the cathedral episcopal see of the suffragan Roman Catholic Diocese of Juticalpa. Geography The Juticalpa area encompasses the Guayape River valley, bordered by the Sierra de Agalta range. Among the most notable of the small villages in the area is La Concepción and La Empalizada. Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán, most commonly known as UPNFM or Lobos (''English: Wolves'') is a Honduran football club, based In Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The club currently plays in the Honduran Liga Nacional. History The club was founded on August 10, 2010 as a sports club for the university. By coincidence, that very same year a place opened up in the Liga Nacional de Ascenso. Until that year, major Honduran teams had fielded affiliates that competed in the Liga de Ascenso. A reform in the league structure forced the withdrawal of those teams, and allowed UPNFM to move right into the spot. The club's roster was drawn from students at the university; here too, however, the withdrawal of the affiliated clubs worked in their favor. UPNFM was an attractive loan partner for reserve players at Olimpia and Motagua because they could pursue a university degree while playing.
