Homenaje
''Homenaje'' ( es, Tribute) is a 1996 live album, recorded during the "Metal Rock Festival" at Obras Sanitarias. The concert was a reunion of the first line-up of the Argentine heavy metal band V8, with the exception of its original bass player Ricardo Iorio. Background V8 was a 1980s Argentine heavy metal band whose most famous line-up included Ricardo Iorio (bass), Osvaldo Civile (guitar), Alberto Zamarbide (vocals) and Gustavo Rowek (drums), which recorded the band's first two studio albums. Civile and Rowek left in 1985, and the band broke up in 1987. All four members created new bands, all of which were among the most influential in Argentine heavy metal. Civile created Horcas, and Rowek joined Walter Giardino (another former V8 member) in Rata Blanca. Iorio created Hermética, and then Almafuerte when Hermética broke up in 1995. After its dissolution former members have continued their careers starting other heavy metal bands, Hermética, Horcas, Rata Blanca, Logos and Almafuerte. Osvaldo Civile
Osvaldo Daniel Civile (21 October 1958 – 28 April 1999) was an Argentine heavy metal guitarist. He was the guitarist for the bands V8 and Horcas. Biography Civile was born in Caseros, Buenos Aires, and began his music career in the band Té de brujas. The guitarist of V8, Ricardo Moreno, left the band in 1982 for health reasons and proposed Civile as his replacement. The drummer Alejandro Colantonio left the band as well, and was replaced by Gustavo Rowek. The lineup of Civile, Rowek, Ricardo Iorio and Alberto Zamarbide is the most famous one of the band. They recorded two long plays, '' Luchando por el Metal'' ( en, Fighting for metal) and ''Un paso más en la batalla'' ( en, Another step in the battle). The band moved to Santos, Brazil, attempting to continue their career there. Alberto Zamarbide
Alberto Zamarbide (born 23 August 1960) is an Argentine heavy metal singer known for his work with bands like V8 and Logos. Biography Early years Alberto Zamarbide began his career as a vocalist in the band WC, with July Morano as guitarist and songwriter of the group. This line up also had Gustavo Rowek on drums. After a year of work and some shows in Buenos Aires, he organized together with Ricardo Iorio what would be the first heavy metal festival held in Argentina in March 1981, at the headquarters of Athletic Club Argentinos Juniors in the neighborhood of the cemetery, Buenos Aires. Zamarbide soon leaves the group and goes to Brazil for a while. V8 On his return, he found Ricardo Iorio, who invited him to sing in V8. Gustavo Rowek
Gustavo Nestor Rowek (born 19 March 1963) is an Argentine heavy metal drummer known for being one of the founders of heavy metal movement in Argentina through its participation in Surmenage, WC, V8 and Rata Blanca. Currently he works in his own project Rowek. Career Early years, V8 and Rata Blanca Rowek began playing at age 16, after a friend taught him some basic principles. His first band was called Sourmenage, but later he left this to join WC. The band performed in various places, including a festival by the heavy metal band V8, a group with which they became friends. Gustavo finished part of the formation of V8. Rowek split with V8 in 1985 and in Brazil began with Osvaldo Civile to shape what would become Horcas. On his return from Brazil, Rowek agreed to help Walter Giardino recording a demo of some songs. Almafuerte was a heavy metal band from Argentina, formed by bassist and lead singer Ricardo Iorio in 1995 after the dissolution of Hermética. History In 1994, Hermética Hermética was an Argentine thrash metal band from San Martín, Buenos Aires. It was formed by bassist Ricardo Iorio in 1987 after his previous band, V8, disbanded. Hermética was signed to the independent record label Radio Trípoli Discos ..., a heavy metal band from Argentina, broke up. Bassist Ricardo Iorio formed, one year later, Almafuerte, with guitarist Claudio "El Tano" Marcielo and drummer Claudio Cardacci. A V8 engine is an eight-cylinder piston engine in which two banks of four cylinders share a common crankshaft and are arranged in a V configuration. Tribute Album
An album is a collection of audio recordings issued on compact disc (CD), vinyl, audio tape, or another medium such as digital distribution. Albums of recorded sound were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78 rpm records collected in a bound book resembling a photograph album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl long-playing (LP) records played at rpm. The album was the dominant form of recorded music expression and consumption from the mid-1960s to the early 21st century, a period known as the album era. ''Madhouse'' was an Argentine heavy metal music magazine edited from 1989 to 2001. It was established by César Fuentes Rodríguez, along with other journalists from the former ''Riff Raff'' magazine. ''Madhouse'' was the first Argentine heavy metal magazine to arrange interviews with international bands, instead of translating such interviews taken from international magazines. Unlike the ''Metal'' magazine, it had an informal style and wrote harsh critics to recordings or plays they did not consider of good quality. It had a higher success as a result, and ''Metal'' ended publication in 1994. The magazine released some special editions as well, titled "''Madhouse extra''". Those special editions were specifically about a certain selected band.
