Home (UK Band)
Home were a British progressive rock band, active in the early 1970s. The core line up featured Mick Stubbs on lead guitar and lead vocals, Laurie Wisefield on lead guitar and vocals, Cliff Williams on bass guitar and vocals, and Mick Cook on drums. They also had two keyboardists during their existence. From 1971 to 1972 it was Swansea's Clive John (from the Welsh band Man), and the other for the rest of their short career was Jimmy Anderson. History Home was formed by Cliff Williams and Laurie Wisefield in 1970 after their first group together, 'Sugar', split. They teamed up with guitarist and vocalist Mick Stubbs and drummer Mick Cook. They signed to CBS Records in 1971 and released their first album, '' Pause for a Hoarse Horse'', in August. They started touring in November when they supported Led Zeppelin at the second Electric Magic Show at the Wembley Empire Pool. British Hit Singles & Albums
''British Hit Singles & Albums'' (originally known as ''The Guinness Book of British Hit Singles'' and ''The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums'') was a music reference book originally published in the United Kingdom by the publishing arm of the Guinness breweries, Guinness Superlatives. Later editions were published by HiT Entertainment (who had bought the Guinness World Records brand). It listed all the singles and albums featured in the Top 75 pop charts in the UK. In 2004 the book became an amalgamation of two earlier Guinness publications, originally known as ''British Hit Singles'' and ''British Hit Albums''. The publication of this amalgamation ceased in 2006, with Guinness World Records being sold to The Jim Pattison Group, owner of ''Ripley's Believe It or Not!''. At this point, the Official UK Charts Company teamed up with Random House/Ebury Publishing to release a new version of the book under the Virgin Books brand. The Groundhogs
Groundhogs are an English blues and rock band founded in late 1963, that toured extensively in the 1960s, achieved prominence in the early 1970s, and continued sporadically into the 21st century. Tony McPhee (guitar and vocals) is the sole constant member of the group, which has gone through many personnel changes, but usually records and performs as a power trio. Career The band was originally formed as the Dollar Bills in New Cross, London, in 1962 by brothers Pete and John Cruickshank (born in 1943 and 1945 respectively in Calcutta, West Bengal, India). Tony McPhee (born 22 March 1944), the lead guitarist in the instrumental group the Seneschals, joined the group later that year. McPhee steered them towards the blues and renamed them after a John Lee Hooker song, "Groundhog's Blues". Mark Evans (musician)
Mark Whitmore Evans (born 2 March 1956) is an Australian musician, the current bass guitarist for rock band Rose Tattoo, and also a member of hard rock band AC/DC from March 1975 to June 1977. His playing featured on their albums ''T.N.T. (album), T.N.T'', ''High Voltage (1976 album), High Voltage'', ''Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap'', ''Let There Be Rock'' and '''74 Jailbreak''. Evans has played for numerous other groups, sometimes on lead guitar, including Finch (Australian band), Finch (a.k.a. Contraband), Cheetah (band), Cheetah, Swanee (singer), Swanee, Heaven (Australian band), Heaven and The Party Boys. Bandit (band)
Bandit were an English rock band, formed in 1976 and disbanded in 1979. They are not to be confused with the same Bandit from the US who released their only album in 1975 on ABC Records, nor any other act with the same name since. Background Bandit released two albums with different line-ups. Bandit's debut ''Bandit'' was released in late 1976 on Arista Records. This album featured Jim Diamond on lead vocals, Danny McIntosh on guitar, future AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams, James Litherland and drummer Graham Broad, now of Roger Waters' band. A single entitled "Ohio" was also released. The punk rock music scene of the time caused a lack of attention and the band later parted ways. Diamond went on to join PhD, and gained a UK Top 10 hit with " I Won't Let You Down". He later went solo and scored two more chart-toppers.
