Holsworthy Railway Line
The Holsworthy railway line was located in South-western Sydney. It was constructed during World War I, mainly using labour from the Holsworthy Internment Camp. Its purpose was to service the army facilities opening on 21 January 1918. Liverpool Railway Station, Sydney
Liverpool railway station is a heritage-listed railway station located on the Main South line, serving the Sydney suburb of Liverpool in Australia. It is served by Sydney Trains T2 Inner West & Leppington, T3 Bankstown and T5 Cumberland services. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999. History The town (now suburb) of Liverpool on the Georges River was one of the earliest settlements of the colony of New South Wales. The station opened on 26 September 1856 and was an early terminus of the Main South line. Military Railways
The military use of railways derives from their ability to move troops or materiel rapidly and, less usually, on their use as a platform for military systems, like very large railroad guns and armoured trains, in their own right. The Moorebank Intermodal Terminal is an intermodal terminal under construction in the south-western Sydney suburb of Moorebank. History In 2010, the Department of Finance and Deregulation conducted a feasibility study into the development of the intermodal terminal at Moorebank in south-western Sydney. East Hills Railway Line
The East Hills railway line serves the southern and south-western suburbs of Sydney, Australia. The line opened to East Hills in 1931 and was extended to connect to the Main South line in 1987. Most services along the line form part of the Airport & South Line operated by Sydney Trains. Alignment The East Hills line branches from the Illawarra line at Wolli Creek Junction, between Tempe and Arncliffe railway stations. From Wolli Creek, the line heads west towards East Hills, where the alignment is within 2 km of the since-constructed M5 South Western Motorway.
