''Star Trek: Very Short Treks'' (stylized as ''very Short Treks'') is a series of promotional short films created by Casper Kelly for the 50th anniversary of ''Star Trek: The Animated Series''. It consists of five non- canon shorts that are two to five minutes long. They feature characters and settings from all previous ''Star Trek'' series. The series was announced in July 2023. Kelly was encouraged to push the boundaries of humor for the franchise. The animation was provided by Awesome Inc and is in the same style as ''The Animated Series''. Many ''Star Trek'' cast members returned to reprise their roles, with several comedians also hired to provide voices. Jonathan Frakes
Jonathan Scott Frakes (born August 19, 1952) is an American actor and director. He is best known for his portrayal of Commander William Riker in the television series '' Star Trek: The Next Generation'' and subsequent films and series. Frakes also hosted the anthology series '' Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction'', and was the voice for David Xanatos in the Disney television series '' Gargoyles''. In June 2011, he narrated the History Channel documentary, ''Lee and Grant''. Frakes directed while starring in '' Star Trek: First Contact'' as well as '' Star Trek: Insurrection''. Bruce Horak
Bruce Horak (born August 5, 1974) is a Canadian artist and television and stage actor, known for portraying Hemmer on '' Star Trek: Strange New Worlds''. Horak is the first legally blind actor to portray a character in the ''Star Trek'' franchise. Early years Horak was born in Calgary, Alberta. At age 18 months, he was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, which caused him to lose his right eye and over 90% of the vision in his left eye. Bloopers
A blooper is a short clip from a film or video production, usually a deleted scene, containing a mistake made by a member of the cast or crew. It also refers to an error made during a live radio or TV broadcast or news report, usually in terms of misspoken words or technical errors. The term blooper was popularized in the 1950s and 1960s in a series of record albums produced by Kermit Schafer entitled ''Pardon My Blooper'', in which the definition of a blooper is thus given by the record series' narrator: "Unintended indiscretions before microphone and camera." Bloopers are often the subject of television programs and may be shown during the closing credits of comedic films or TV episodes.
