Holger H. Jerichau
Holger Hvidtfeldt Jerichau (29 April 1861, Copenhagen – 25 December 1900, Copenhagen) was a Danish landscape painter. His brother, Harald Jerichau, was also a well known painter in the same genre. Life and work He was born to the sculptor, Jens Adolf Jerichau, and his wife, Elisabeth Jerichau Baumann, who was a painter. He was initially apprenticed to the merchant trade in Germany and Italy, but displayed little aptitude for that career. As a result, he chose to follow in the footsteps of his parents. He received most of his training from his mother, but also studied with tutors abroad. He never attended an art school. Beginning in 1884, he exhibited landscapes with Italian motifs. He lived abroad for most of his life; primarily in Italy, but also in southern Russia and Asia, including a year in India (1893–94). Harald Jerichau
Harald Adolf Nikolaj Jerichau (18 August 1851 – 6 March 1878) was a Danish landscape painter. Biography Jerichau was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. His father was the sculptor, Jens Adolf Jerichau, and his mother was the painter, Elisabeth Jerichau-Baumann. His younger brother, Holger H. Jerichau, also became a painter, while his older brother, Thorald Jerichau, was a composer. He received his first formal drawing lessons from the architect C. V. Nielsen, then studied perspective at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1868. Later, he received lessons from Frederik Christian Lund and Eiler Rasmussen Eilersen. Jerichau first exhibited in Copenhagen in 1873. This was followed by a trip to Italy with his mother. Emil Jens Baumann Adolf Jerichau (17 April 1816 – 25 July 1883) was a Danish sculptor. He belonged to the generation immediately after Bertel Thorvaldsen, for whom he worked briefly in Rome, but gradually moved away from the static Neoclassicism he inherited from him and towards a more dynamic and realistic style. He was a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and its director from 1857 to 1863. Elisabeth Jerichau Baumann
Anna Maria Elisabeth Lisinska Jerichau-Baumann (21 November 1819 – 11 July 1881) was a Poland, Polish-Denmark, Danish painter. She was married to the sculptor Jens Adolf Jerichau. Early life and career Elisabeth Jerichau-Baumann was born in Żoliborz (French: ''Joli Bord'') a borough of Warsaw. Her father Philip Adolph Baumann (1776–1863), a mapmaker, and her mother, Johanne Frederikke Reyer (1790–1854), were of German extraction. At the age of nineteen, she began her studies at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf which at the time was one of the most important art centres in Europe and her early subject matter was drawn from Slovaks, Slovak life. She is associated with the Düsseldorf school of painting. She began exhibiting there and in 1844 attracted public attention for the first time. Hørsholm () is an urban area on the Øresund coast approximately north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It covers most of Hørsholm Municipality and straddles the borders neighbouring Fredensborg Municipality and Rudersdal Municipality.
